Looks like Carroll County's game against Western on August 18th is going to be a bowl game, and Newport will be playing Henry County at Carroll County on Saturday, August 19th as part of the bowl.

I feel ya....but I will say, Newport's was about the least interesting WPA stadium I've ever seen.

Not exactly surprising that the playing surface didn't quite make the nominal "10 year" standard with as many teams and we have practicing and playing on it. Varsity, JV and freshman football, varsity JV and freshman soccer, Colonel Youth Football, lacrosse, plus the occasional Holy Cross and New Cath game.

That's what I was thinking: "Well, yellow isn't a color for Pendleton County, Pulaski County or Powell County..."

Good hire. Coach Tarter has coached for the Bracken County Youth Football League for 9 years and has also served on the BCYFL board. He sounds like someone who is well-vested in the community and will hopefully be committed to hanging around at Bracken County. It may just be me, but from the outside it seems like the Bracken County High School fans have been reluctant to embrace their football coaching hires in years past. Here's hoping they'll support Coach Tarter and his staff and they can build on what they have in Brooksville.
