Madisonville made 6 errors

Gotta give Lyons Co pitcher lots of credit. We we're flat at the plate was chasing her rise ball at of the zone and watching the good strikes. Lyon came out with nothing to lose. Top of the lineup for them hit the ball well first couple of times, but Mallory pitched a good game. Heather gets the ball tomorrow night.

South Warren beat Greenwood 2-1 in District Championship.

Turned out to be a nice night for softball. I was worried about it on the way down that they werent going to get to play.

Couple for greenwood. North rarely uses the bunt unless #6-9 hitters.

Kirby pitched 6.1 inning & then brought in their FR. Appears Moss is out thru district along with their coach according to Kypreps

Madisonville North's Kaylee Tow started the game off with a leadoff double to LF but 3 straight groundouts and greenwood gets out of the 1st inning. Greenwood goes 3up 3down in bottom half of first inning. North goes 3up and 3down in top 2nd. Greenwood gets a leadoff double by Merritt, but Webb was able to get out of the inning. 0-0 North goes 3up and 3down again in the 3rd inning. Bottom of 3rd Greenwood has 1 of 2 chances in the game to score with Leadoff single and FC that reaches bases with no outs runners at 1st & 2nd with no outs. Webb gets to flyouts & groundout to get out of the inning. North strikes first in the top half of the 4th after a leadoff walk by Hailey Rodgers, Heather Webb hits 2R HR(11) to give North 2-0 after getting Greenwood to go 3up and 3down in the 4th. North goes quitely in the 5th. Greenwood gets a leadoff triple in bottom half with strikout, line drive out, & popup to catcher to end the inning. North scores2 in top half of the 6th inning when Hailey Rodger draws another walk right before Mallory Peyton hits her 14th HR of the year. Greenwood scores their only run of the game in the bottom of the 6th on leadoff walk when 2nd batter is throwed at out 1st and throw behind the runner at 2nd is wide and gets to the outfield fence. North scores 6 runs in top half of the 7th inning. Oldham leads off the top half with single to CF, followed by walk to Lexi Miller, Kaylee Tow, Hailey Rodgers (RBI). Mallory Peyton hits double to CF (2RBI), then Whitney Bean hit her 2nd HR of the season (3RBI) to make it 10-1. Greenwood was able to score in bottom half of 7th. Heather Webb 7(IP) 6(H) 1® 0(ER) 2(BB) 5(K) to improve her record to 10-2 on the season.

What could be a preview of the Region 2 Championship game. First game this year Union Co beat North Hopkins 2-1, so North was looking forward to the rematch now that they have everyone back healthy. Union Co jumped out to a 2-0 lead in top 1st on 2 run HR by Ayla Henderickson. Madisonville struck back on back-back-back solo HR from Kaylee Tow(9), Hailey Rodgers(1), Mallory Peyton(12), but wasn't done. North loads bases and gets RBI single from Lexi Miller to make it 4-2, right before Kaylee Tow comes to bat with bases loaded to hit grand slam to make 8-2 after 1st inning. Heather Webb strikes out the side in top 2nd. North Hopkns scores 2 in bottom half of 2nd on HR from Heather Webb(11) 10-2. Union Co scores 3 in top half of 2nd on 3 walks and couple of hits to make it 10-5. North went quite in bottom half of the 3rd. Heather Settles down in top half of the 4th with 3up 3down inning. North strikes again in bottom half of the 4th with Heather Webb hitting her 12th HR of the season. Whitney Bean singles, Morgan McElroy single both scores in bottom half right before game was suspended for Lightening. Not sure the game will be able to be completed next week before district starts. I know Madisonville North has 5 games next week with only open date Friday before they end their regular season in triangle game against #2 Greenwood & Henry Clay at Greenwood. This was a closer game than the final scores shows. Courtney Patterson our 7th grader earned the start in the circle. North jumped out to an early lead on inside the park homerun by Kaylee Tow(5), which was quickly followed up by Mallory Peyton's 6th homerun of the season to make it 2-0. Bottom of the 2nd Grayson scores on squeeze play back to the pitcher to make it 2-1. They then took a 5-2 to lead before Madisonville made the change to bring in Heather Webb to finish out the game. Top of 3rd Mallory Peyton hits a sac fly to score Ryleigh Oldham to make 5-3. Heather Webb then singles to CF to score Kaylee Tow making 5-4. CR Bailey Woodard scores on pass ball to tie the game at 5-5. Grayson Co scores 2 in bottom 3rd to make it 7-5. Mallory Peyton hits a double to LF which was close to being another HR to score Kaylee Tow. Heather Webb then ties the ballgame back up at 7-7 scoring Mallory Peyton with single to CF. Madisonville scores in top of 6th on double by Lexi Miller scoring Morgan McElroy. Kaylee Tow made it 10-7 with double to CF scoring Lexi Miller & Ryleigh Oldham. This game was lot closer than the score and North should have lost this game. Madisonville scores 3 runs in the top of the 1st. 1st run scored by Kaylee Tow on RBI single by Mallory Peyton. Should be interesting tournament this year with Henderson beating Union 6-0 last night and Union beating us 2-1. It's going to come down to pitching.

Madisonville North played county rival Hopkins Co Central tonight. North jumped out to a 4-0 lead with a 3R HR from Mallory Peyton(3) in 1st innings followed by solo HR from Heather Webb(6). North scored again in 5th when Whitney Bean led off the inning with a double that was followed up by triple by Morgan McElroy, McElroy then scored on a squeeze play by Allison Davis to make score 6-0. North added it's final 3 runs in the top of the 6th inning when Hailey Rodgers led off the inning with a standup double and then scored on Mallory Peytons standup double for her 4th RBI of the night. Mallory Peyton then advanced to 3rd on Heather Webb's sac fly to RF and then scored on Whitney Beans sac fly to CF. Heather Webb went the distance giving up 2 hits, striking out 8 allowing an 1 unearned run in the 4th inning. North next game is against Warren East, Marshall Co, & Louisville Christian this weekend in Bowling Green in Greenwoods Border Battle.

Madisonville North Hopkins went 2-1 in Huntsville AL. They beat Hazel Green 4-3 and Hueytown 2-0 in pool play. They lost to Scottsboro AL 4-3 in first round of bracket play. Heather Webb pitched in her first games of the year going 5 innings against Hueytown allowing 2 hits. Pitched against Scottsboro going 6 inning allowing 4 hits and 1 ER. K. Tow came back as well this weekend hitting 3R HR against Scottsboro.

Madisonville North has missed 3 but couldn't be at a better time. Give time for some girls to get healthy. Heather pitches tomorrow to see if she can start throwing again without pain. She hasnt pitched a game yet this season. Our CF/Leaderoff hitter was off for 2 weeks as well, we travel tomorrow to play in the Bob Jones Tournament.

McCracken beat Oboro Cath 9-1 in Championship in 5 innings Looked like there was several good games this weekend I wasnt able to make it but followed several games on Game Changer. Madisonville North finished 2-1 in the tournament beating Western Hill (12-0) & Male (6-4) losing to Greenwood (7-2). Our #1 didn't pitch at all this weekend, while our #2 only pitched against Greenwood. We used our 7th grader against Western Hill & 8th grader against Male. Heather Webb(2) & Mallory Peyton(1) went yard. North finished this week 3-2 beating #2McCracken, #8Male, & Western Hills, while losing to Union Co & #1Greenwood. North battling few injuries tosome key players but is playing really good team ball.
