  1. Not disagreeing with you that this thread is about Coach Hackett and it's not his fault the previous Coach is gone. Hope he get's every opportunity that he should get. I was just responding to your statement that "the boat's not sinking because it tilted; it's because every one ran to one side." In the other threads regarding this situation it was emphasized that it was disgruntled parents that forced the AD's hand. Maybe, Maybe not. My response was intended to be that; I hope it was not for that reason. I think you even posted a response on 5/25/12 on another thread of your support of the previous Coach. My comments are not in support of one Coach or another; just my opinion on the received reason behind his dismissal. Good luck to Coach Hackett. My apologies, but what was Matt Ginter able to do?
  2. Winning the District and Region every year, is totally different than what has been stated on this site as to the reason behind his dismissal. If in fact that is the reason, then that is the administration's prerogative. If it is due to parents complaining because of playing time, which has been the reference on this site, then that is a different set of reason's; which do not deserve a dismissal. Pleasing people over PT is never a win win situation.
  3. Boat should never have been tilted. Montgomery had a good captain to steer the boat!
  4. The wind was blowing straight out to right. Ball kept carrying and had a slight slice (coming off a right handed batter). Just one of those that if you take your eye off of it to quickly, it could turn to disaster which it did. Prayers to the kid. One of those freakish things that happen in this game! I agree with earlier post that this was just a culmination of plays that occurred in the inning after 2 outs and no one on base.
  5. Gardner Adams; Asbury (Lafayette) drafted by Braves
  6. 3 innings is a workout with 3 to 4 days rest
  7. True, but travel budgets probably don't allow most programs to do that with their JV programs.
  8. I agree with that. If the catcher is setting up down the middle of the plate, it would seem that is what they are trying to do, just not getting it done.
  9. In your opinion what do you think the problem is?
  10. Amen to that. The pitching is getting them behind the eight ball. Changes need to be made.
  11. Everyone has a right to a choice and a preference; I guess it depends on what you are trying to accomplish; are you in it for your High School Team or the individual; that is why some teams will be so so and other teams will keep on reloading.
  12. I didn't say for a few individuals being singled out!! please go back and read again; what was stated was that it is for individuals; aka individuals from alot of different teams; as opposed to what Harrison Co. does to develop a TEAM.
  13. You are missing the point. Travel teams which is what you are talking about in Northern Ky. are different than a schools summer teams. Harrison uses their summer for their players and their players only, to get experience for mostly younger guys who did not participate that much the previous varsity season. Most travel teams are in it to get exposure for individuals; Harrison does it to develop the TEAM. And does Bourbon use only Bourbon kids? They used to get kids from all over! When all is said and done Harrison will be the team, hands down.
  14. No offense but summer and high school seasons are day and night in differences. I'm not telling you anything that you dont know, but intensity is a little different. But they did win the District and that has to give them a little confidence going in.
  15. Their off speed, off speed is what kept hitters off balance for a few innings. Have they picked up any velocity?
