  1. This was a great game! I am not as familiar with the girls game as the boys but I have enjoyed watching them this season. I have become a fan. It was a heartbreaking loss for the Lady Jags but they have absolutely nothing to hang their head about. One thing is for sure, they have the ability to win that region. Go Lady Jags!
  2. Nice win for the Jags. JC had the lead at the half, but NL prob lead most of the game. I admit, I was worried about this one and how NL was going to play. But they continued their intensity and quality play after the big win at Knox Central on Friday. JC has a good, young team and starts 3 soph, one eighth grader and one senior. They will be a force in the future.
  3. Both NL and Clay have had the luck of the draw and should both advance to the regional tourney. But Jackson beat the Jags earlier in the season and could still have their number in this game as well. I believe NL will come out on top, but ya never know. I do not think Clay will have any trouble in their game.
  4. I really enjoyed the game last night. I thought that NL really played well and basically handled SL the entire game. I felt that North would have some trouble with the press because, in the games that I have seen, they usually do. But they had built a big enough lead to hang on at the end. Big win for the Lady Jags!
  5. They did not shoot the ball well last night, especially in the fourth quarter. They threw up a lot of what I call bricks and could not rebound at all. From what I could see, Corbin had two players that scored the majority of their points. I would venture to guess 50plus of the 69 scored. NL was there till the fourth quarter and they just quit showing up. NL needs to learn how to finish. Nice win for Corbin. Raymond Shears missed his 3rd game last night. He is sick. Maybe he could have made a difference.
  6. The game was a Clay. It was a good game, North played hard and actually led most of the game. NL was playing without Shears. I believe he is participating in the Border Bowl this week. NL is quite capable of giving teams a good game. Their record is somewhat misleading. It just seems like they can't pull it out at the end.
  7. Glad to see NL make it into the top ten. They have played some really tough and talented teams. Adrian Wardrup is the bright spot on the team and has really been the one that has kept them in the games that they have won. When I look at the records listed, I cringe at that 5-10 mark, but as Les said, they have played a tough schedule.
  8. NL Freshman team is bad. SL beat them 50 points or so, maybe more. I am not sure what SL JV has done, I am sure that they win. NL JV beat them fairly easily though. NL first five are good players, but they are not very deep. They are 2-1 with their only loss coming in overtime at Lafayette after blowing a 17 point lead. These are the only 2 mountain Fresh/JV teams that I have seen.
  9. I agree. NL had NO effort in the second half. Even the subs that came in did not play well despite their success with their win in the JV game. Speaking of the JV game, I believe that was one of the more physical games that I have seen in a while. NL responded to that and had a double digit lead early in the first half and held on for a hardfought win. The first game ended up being the more entertaining of the two. Good luck to GRC and to my Jags, hang in there. This was only the first game of the season.
  10. I dislike the blind draw as well. I will say that probably NL and Clay are the only two of the five that vote for seeding. OBI, Jackson Co. and Redbird vote draw. I don't expect it to ever change. The same always happens in basketball too.
  11. NL will not be number one next year, but they very well could compete and be in the top five of the region. No, they did not make the region tourney last year as they lost to Clay in the first round of the district.......but I believe better things are on the horizon for NL. Only time will tell...........:thumb:
  12. I've seen every game NL has played this year and I think (Chris) Larkey knows how to handle the situation he's in! NL will come out on top! NL-14 HC-7 Go JAGS!!!
  13.:clap: Carson is not a legit 8th grader, he is 15. Zach Storm is the SS and whether he is the best freshman in the region is left in the eye of the beholder. North has several talented frosh and one in particular has not been able to play due to an injury. He, in the eye of this beholder, is the best fresh catcher in the region. No one seems to know about him though but I expect they will eventually. Hopefully North can be ready to play on Monday, quiet the naysayers and gain some respect.
