  1. Brandon was not on the 95 team. He graduated in 1993. The RB you saw in 1995 was good, but nowhere near a Brandon Berger. He was one of the best RB's to graduate from BW for sure, top 2 in my opinion. I think this is a very nice team this year, but not going to make the Top 5 BW teams of all time. I do not think this is the fastest or the most talented group in BW history either. It is certainly one of the fastest, but I don't know if I would call it the fastest. This won't even be a topic of conversation unless BW wins state. I know Mayfield has had BW's number, but I would take some of the teams that I saw come through BW in the 90's against any Mayfield team that I have seen. They have had some serious talent in recent years, but I don't remember much noise coming out of Mayfield in the 90's
  2. I did not know that. Maybe you are right about it being much closer. Hopefully it is a very good game
  3. Ummmm, no. They made the playoffs last year and won the first round game. That made them 1-0. Then they lost in the second round last year to Frankfort. That made them 1-1. Thus, the two playoff games
  4. Carroll County head coach stated that they should have won this game in the paper last year after getting beaten by 38 points. I look for HC to make sure it isn't as close this year.
  5. I would like to see Dayton win this one, but I don't think they have much of a chance. Frankfort by as many as they want
  6. Walton wins easily just as they did the first time
  7. I think Owen wins in a close one because of how well they throw the ball, but I wouldn't be shocked if Newport wins either if the eliminate some mistakes.
  8. Or if they combined 1A and 2A like they shouldve a long time ago and get rid of 6 classes. 4 classes is plenty, but this isn't the time to discuss that. I like BW in tonight's matchup and, if they are healthy, to win it all.
  9. In my opinion, 1-3 are the only title contenders and they all have to play each other before the state championship. Thus, the state title should be given in the semis........not really but you get my point. I don't think anyone that make it to state to play one of these 3 stands much of a chance. I could be proven wrong, but I won't be convinced until it happens
  10. Agreed. Male doesnt deserve to be on this list, but everyone 1-9 is exactly where they should be. Boone should probably be at #10
  11. I agree with 1-6. 7-10 could be a coin flip for the order. In my opinion, 2-10 or maybe either 13 can all beat each other on any given night. No one is beating #1 NCC this year in 2A, unless they turn the ball over and make a bunch of mistakes.
  12. I think BW wins this game convincingly in a very hard fought battle. BW 28-14
  13. Due to the injuries that BW has sustained the last couple of weeks, I think this game is going to be closer than I did prior to injury. I think BW still wins, but it will be a close one once again
  14. Upfront is where most games are won and lost. If you can get sacks without blitzing, you are going to win. Another great point. Should be interesting to see now that the 2 giants are gone at NCC. Those two guys were so dominate at the high school level. Very difficult to match up with them.
  15. The Bengals are reportedly trading Carson Palmer to the Oakland Raiders for a 2012 1st draft pick and a conditional 1st round draft pick in 2013. Thoughts?
  16. Toss up game for me. Im gonna go with my gut and say Boone wins, but Ive known Coach Lickert for awhile and can never rule him out
  17. Hahaha. I agree with 1-3. 4-7 is debatable. 8-10 is a toss up. You can make a case for several teams in 8-10.
  18. I believe it is hardly a stretch. To go with the argument you are making, the same thing has happened at HC. HC has made changes to both their offense and their defense, which has been very successful. It would be interesting to see the Cooper/Conner/HC matchups again
  19. Since the 6 class system was put into place, it is probably their biggest rival due to the impact the game has on their season. Calling it a "Super Bowl" is probably a stretch because this game doesnt determine the end of HC's season. However, NCC should be used to people thinking that playing them is a huge game for their opponent's season due to the amount of success NCC has acheived. When you have proven you are the best, everyone wants to bring their 'A' game
  20. I know you can't really gauge a team by playing common opponents or by viewing the scoring outcome, but Newport did not score on HC first team defense and Newport scored twice on NCC's first team defense. All of the mentioned teams were held to less than 100yrds of total offense with HC's first team defense in each game. HC was exposed against Conner and Beechwood and their coaches seemed to have improved those weaknesses. Not saying it is completely fixed, but I believe they have improved
  21. It is just an opinion, but I think HC is starting to peak right now and they are playing better defense and their passing game is becoming more dynamic. Conner was the better team the night they played, so I don't want to take anything away from their win. A few personnel changes on defense after the Beechwood game has seemed to really help HC out. Thus, I think HC would win if they were to play Conner again. Since it will not happen, I wish them luck and hope they represent NKY well in the playoffs
  22. They did and they beat Cooper. It would then come down to a tie breaker because Cooper beat Conner.
