  1. They have both their qb's back and thats why they are throwing alot more this year.
  2. They have a couple guys that go both ways.
  3. Brossart did play alot of 7 on 7 but their opponents were Beechwood and a bunch of 5 and 6 A schools. The problem with running game is their best player by far Tony Woeste ( starting rb ) graduated last year, and nobody has stepped up to fill his shoes.
  4. It should be a good one but Brossart didn't look that good in the 7 on 7 games and they don't really have much size so it will be a tough test for them.
  5. How will they match up against Bishop Brossart a third year team in the opener.
  6. The freshman qb is in their plans though
  7. They have both qb's from last year coming back so they should be all right.
  8. What do they have coming back this year?
  9. Things are going well for them.
  10. They are looking a lot better than last year.
  11. I would have to agree, the Bash was a nice time and the weather was great. There were a few nice games throughout the tournament with East Jessamine having a very nice weekend as well as Boone County.
  12. The biggest thing for Brossart is having a full offseason to learn the game. The kids are working really hard which is important.
  13. After seeing Newport first hand last year and knowing what they have coming back they should be in the top ten. Their O is going to be really good and Rice is a heck of a coach.
  14. Spencer Brown should return at QB, their are about 4 RB's that should see carries all bringing something different to the table. Brossart returns Mustang award winner Anthony Steffen, Defensive POY Chris Bowman, and 4 starters who missed more than 30 games combined. 19 out of 22 starters will be back along with 8 to 12 new varsity faces.
  15. Sowder should do very well this year. It's nice to see Scott with a good player at the QB spot, not like they have had in the past.
  16. If the mustangs can stay healthy with all their young guy's getting time last year they can have a good one this year.
  17. This is a camp that as far as I know they are sending out to everybody. We even have soph's that have been invited. I don't know how legit it is but it looks like any other camp ( Lou, Mich, Kky ) and all the other camps that send HS stuff.
  18. I think one side of the argument that has not been talked about is the service that the team is getting/not getting. If the field is run by a city park, the school may not be spending any money which in these times is not such a bad thing. If the district itself does not have the funds to provide a top notch field, a city run park isn't so bad. Academics are still supposed to come first and softball is not a money sport I also feel that the district just simply might not be able to match your enthusiasm about the sport.
  19. The tough spot comes with the backlash that can be caused for the coaching staff. The key defining word is support and that varies depending on the location an/or size of the school. The backlash can come from within the school where coaches may hold their jobs. I can definitely see where Title IX has its advantages for bringing and upstart program or an established one the proper facilities to continue their success though.
