  1. Not as familiar with Ludlow but know about some of the Ryle players. Mitch McLiesh is a solid defender, very nice range on his shot, cuts well but is most effective shooting the three on the wing, handles/dishes the ball well enough to play the one but will likely start in the 2 position, he is real "gamer". (played well with the Shining Stars this Summer) Clay Coleman is a nice outside shooter, handles the ball well for his size, learning to finish at the basket &rebound better. Experienced player with all the tools, played with the Scott Co. boys this Summer at the highest level of AAU. Tate Nichols suffered by having to deal with the ankle injury last season that limited his devolopment on the court (shut it down early in Summer ball too). That and time at football will hold him back early in season although early exit from playoffs will help. He is a real "big-man" player inside shot blocking and stick-backs; needs to work on foul trouble to get more minutes. He has extended his play (shot, not so much ball-handling) look for him to be a real factor as the season progresses. Overall, Ryle could be a sleeper in the region with real height, good shooting, and decent depth........defense will be the key as to how far they will go.
  2. To me 10 is probably max.(how would you rotate more than that & I wouldn't play any on JV) but why would you keep seniors if the jrs. are better, just to say you did? Am I missing something that says every class should be represented regardless of talent? As far as affecting the sophmores varsity experience, they will play also......if they are better. You can still give varsity experience to a soph if they progress, it only serves notice to the 8-9-10 jrs. that your senior yr. is not a given. Overall, too much talent is a nice problem to have...........!
  3. Roller and Collinsworth did participate and plan(ned) to play............think there has been a change of heart since then but the door is still open.(from the b-ball team) I wouldn't expect to see them come out, particulary if football runs into mid December.
  4. Expect Grubbs and Welz................ maybe Turner, no one else.
  5. It's my understanding that Turner may opt to play, but the others are definitely not on the team.

Just curious to know about this year's LCA squad .......saw them in the finals in 'Ville last year and was very impressed with the diversified offense. I knew there were several underclassmen, particularly Hayden & Witt and a couple of receivers. Are you running the same "O" and who else of note is back this year ? Tell me about your season (losses) and whether you feel the team is able to make a run to the finals.....................
  7. I agree that it would not diminish the honor to award multiple winners. Perhaps the answer is to name POY for each class and still recognize "Mr. Football" as the top honor.
  8. Really don't see anyone being challenged this week..........Maybe the better question is who is likely to remain undefeated and win their State Championship ! I think 4A is most likely if LexCath doesn't spoil the party, Beechwood will take 1A, Corbin will not get past a tough NewCath squad in round 3, Belfry will not be able to match Central again in the finals ending their perfect record, but St. X will avoid the Trinity upset this time ....what do you all think ?
  9. Yes..........several of these teams lost this year, doesn't mean they are not top 10 quality ?
  10. 1) St X 2) Highlands 3) Trinity 4) Manual 5) Bell Co 5b) Boyle Co 7) Louisville Central 8) Madison Central 9) Bowling Green 10) Belfry
