Thought I would share, one interesting point, while SK did not make the top 25 in state, but they appear to be in the Top 5 for the 9th Region??? So the statement noted here about SK is incorrect then, they did loose seniors, two of them.

They didn't move and as far as I know, no injuries, so that leaves, them deciding not to play, don't know why. Good question.

I heard that SK lost 2 in coming seniors this year, so they are down to 5 not 7, Virginia Lynch and Kristen Pace both played last year as Juniors. Kristen played front row and Virginia nice all around player, front and back row.

Vicki is a great coach, she coached my daughter last year during club. She is a wonderful motivator. Congrats Vicki, you deserve it! :dancingpa

According to this post it appears that Madison is unable to play the tourney.

I like the Kansas concept. I totally agree it is very unfair that top teams are knocked out and weaker teams advance. There skill set is not the same and it is not a level playing field. There has to be a better way of recognizing these top performing teams. Perhaps pool play with 2 teams per Region is something to consider. There are lessons to be learned from the Club seaons, Gold and Silver brackets is not a bad idea at all. Point is, there are options out there so why not consider them. I realize KY can not follow Ohio format since there are many more teams and have various divisions and KY may be unable to support that type of tournament, but there are options. Why can't these be reviewed and considered?

The Enquirer failed to mention anything at all about the All Regional team. I was very disappointed. There are a lot of girls who played hard this tournament and should have been reconginzed. I thought perhaps they would be mentioned in the paper, nothing. Congrats to all you girls, you played awesome and deserve the kuddos!!!! I am sorry that I don't know all the names otherwise I would post them. :dancingpa

When it is tournament time you can take NOTHING for granted. NDA has to come out to play strong and hard to win this one.

My girls went to a public middle school and they did not start volleyball until the 6th grade while the parochial started much earlier. You can certainly tell the difference in skill sets. Fortunately the girls started playing club right away and were able to develop their skills in order to play for the parachial high school team. Although, now, the public elementary school by me are starting "clinic" volleyball sessions. Not really a "team" but at least getting the ball in their hands earlier and learning the fundamentals.

You are correct, this is NDA Senior night where the Senior are recognized and sent off with well wishes from their fellow team members on their future endeavors.

What we have been told is that the doors will open at 4:15 as the expectations are quite high that this will be a sell out. Freshman play at 5pm. Between student bodies as well as parents of the respective teams this is normally a highly attended game to begin with but with the Volley For the Cure added it should be a sell out.

I would agree with the comments. While NDA did win over St Henry at the Fall Classic in 2, St. Henry will certainly have the incentive, home court and opportunity to reclaim bragging rights of NKY. Should be a VERY good game between the NKY power houses. Plus- come show your support for Breast Cancer - this game is the Volley For A Purpose for both teams.:dancingpa

Great attitude of looking forward! :dancingpa Many of us have been in the same position as Beechwood for various reasons, like your mom always says "what doesn't kill you makes you stronger" I think this team/organization will continue to be stronger.

Yes, you are correct, the game is at St. Henry. As of last night, St. Henry did have t-shirts to sell at the game although, I don't know how many but I am sure you could contact either school to purchase a shirt. In addition to silent auction items. It should be a great event for a wonderful cause.

Results of the Fall Classic - Championship - NDA defeated Mercy 25-20 & 25-22 Runner Up - St Henry defeated NCC 19-25, 25-22 & 26-24 Semi Finals Mercy defeated NCC 26-24, 21-25 & 25-20 NDA defeated St. Henry 25-22 & 25-20 NDA and St. Henry meet again this Thursday for their season play which is also their Volley For The Cure event. This should be a great game as if it were not already but I am sure St. Henry is looking forward at another opportunity to claim victory.

I am going off memory but I know they will not play each other Saturday. But Sunday they could depending upon how each do in their pools.

Interesting how these compare to the Enquirer's Volleyball Coaches' poll. Their ranking puts Campbell County over all of the previous noted poll's teams and St. Henry below those noted which they were place above. 1. Notre Dame 2. NCC 3. St. Henry 4. Highlands 5. The last I heard the game was at Regents, even though this is a big game for the Pandas, I don't think they could fill the new facility : ) This is also the Grade School game where the younger girls get in free and have the opportunity to watch a great game. GO PANDAS!!!!!:dancingpa

Thoughts and prayers from Kenton County to the family and fellow team members.

In my opinion, depending upon what your daughter is looking to gain from participating in a club sport determines the type of club which she would play on. In other words, if your daugher has aspirations of playing for college, then she really does need to play for a club where the coaching staff, training and competition are stronger and the expecations for these clubs are higher since the cost is greater. And yes, like everything there is a higher price tag associated with that higher level of play. But, if she wants to develop her skills and keep a ball in her hand but does not wish to play at the college level, then there are other clubs to meet that need also. Let's face it, this is basic marketing. If there was not a consumer interest in all levels of clubs, they would not exist. There are high schools out there which "strongly suggests" their players play club, but I don't know if they all "strongly suggest" the top clubs for their players. I think that is why you have your independent teams pop up. They are not looking to play for the Team Z, MAVA, KIVA and NKYVC teams but still good competion where they can control the location of play and thereby the costs but still continue to develop the athletes. Your thoughts?
