It seems that the only posters interested in volleyball are fans in the 9th and 10th regions in Northern Kentucky . Where is everyone else ? Where are the Louisville and Lexington fans ? I just wish that Oneida Baptist, as the host of the 47th District, would have called the results in from the tournament last night. The first round, both semifinals, and championship were played at OBI last night yet they can't call them in? If I'm not mistake, if a post-season host school doesn't call something in, they are subject to a fine.

 

The main reason why I wanted to know this is because Rockcastle County was favored to win the tournament yet I can't get any information on it.

NCC drew Assumption 3 years ago in the first round of the State...

Yeah Region 2 will get either Assumption or Sacred heart in 1st round and Region 5 will get Mercy. Tough way to start out against top teams in the state

The 10th will boil down to NCC and Campbell. There is a little known team that could give either team fits and that is Greenwood. They have beat local teams Ryle, Boone, and Simon Kenton. They have a middle blocker that switches to the outside to hit. Apparently, according to the 3 local coaches, she is the real deal. If she gets hot, watch out. But, if you can block her early she will start to think too much.

We're a Mercy family, and I wondered the same thing. Maybe cathloic school folks are tired of causing a public vs private debate on every thread we enter. I know it crosses my mind before I post.

Volleyball in the mountains, especially in the 14th region, is gaining alot of momentum and I believe it will continue to gain momentum. When Owsley began Volleyball, there was barely enough to play one game, now we have enough for 3+ teams and are talking about beginning in the elementary school because of the interest. The crowds at our games are growing. The male counterparts in the school continue to ask about starting volleyball for boys.

That is the way to start a Quality Program . You defiantely need to start in elementary school We have instructional volleyball in the third grade with team play beginning in the fourth in a parochial grade school league .

My girls went to a public middle school and they did not start volleyball until the 6th grade while the parochial started much earlier. You can certainly tell the difference in skill sets. Fortunately the girls started playing club right away and were able to develop their skills in order to play for the parachial high school team. Although, now, the public elementary school by me are starting "clinic" volleyball sessions. Not really a "team" but at least getting the ball in their hands earlier and learning the fundamentals.
