I am a Bellevue fan, but I am also a real fan, of any team I like. I'm not a sugar coater. At the beginning of the year, I said this team would only lose 2 games (Beechwood and NCC). They are a fine football team, but not sure how they stack up with Beechwood. And he is doing something right. He handles the offense well, for now. We'll see how they do this weekend. And it's ripping by the way...

No idea. It's probably almost even. Maybe INT outweigh TD's. Not 100% sure

I agree, theres no doubt in my mind that the new team would be pretty darn good. Imagine a Sherlock, Buckler, Barrett, Richardson offense. Wow. But what I'm saying is IMO, your losing more than gaining. Just one mans opinion

Way back when you played? :lol::lol: Winning is important, yes. And winning a state title every now and then would be glorious. Agreed with that too. But there's something about this game. It's what small-town USA is all about. A battle between two schools where the "will and hunger" is poured onto the field to defeat the rivaled opponent. If the two schools merged, they might be good for a while, but all tradition, all the legacy, the feel of a Friday night game against your most hated opponent, everything would be gone. Also, don't assume things about me, please and thank you.

Although I believe if the merger happened that Bellevue and Dayton would be very competitive (what class would they be in?), I still don't know if it's the right move. Theirs so much tradition at both schools, and the rivalry is one of the best around. Imagine a season with no Bellevue/Dayton game. Heck, I miss when they played twice in a season.

I've heard that Mitch Hammond and Merritt, both former Bellevue students, will be coaching the Freshman team, hearsay though.

Vories will do great things at Newport. He has some talent there already to begin with, and he does a good job at getting the most out of his players, as seen last year with Bellevue's Boys Varsity team.

Technically, Dayton won the first "Battle for the Paddle" game last season, so its never been at Bellevue, but thats irrelevant. Big game for both schools, as it usually is. Although Dayton has struggled thus far, they will come into Bellevue with hopes to spoil Bellevue's Homecoming (Bellevue hasn't won their Homecoming game in 4 years I think?) I think this one will be close until the fourth quarter, where Bellevue starts opening it up a bit. Bellevue 26 Dayton 13
