True the 1st region has not won a state title since North Marshall won it all in 1959, but teams from the region have had a fair amount of success at the State Tournament. 1983Carlisle County made it to the state finals, In 95 Marshall County made it to the Final 4 losing to eventual champ Breck Co, Graves County won state tournament games a few times in the mid and late 90's....then made a Final 4 trip in 2006. In 2002 Paducah Tilghman made it to the state finals....losing to Lex Cath. Also made the quarter-finals again last year.

Cats Pause has them picked 3rd. That is WITH Willis. Is he playing? The preview is quoted as saying "Garner will assume more of the scoring burden if Coach Bruce Lane enforces his decision to keep 6-3 forward Tyrell Willis off the roster. Willis started last season but wasn't with the Lakers this summer"

They have gone back to playing out of district in the playoffs. 1st plays 2nd like in the past(Franlkin Simpson, Warren East, Allen County Scottsville, Russell County. If you finish #1 or #2 in district you get to host a 1st round playoff game.....3rd and 4th go on the road.
