Should be no shortage of offense in this one. Who wins it?

Time for Calloway to amp up offensively. They've been playing banged up and short-handed, but looks like this week they should be at full strength. Question becomes if their QB-REC timing is finally back. Lakers must stop Marshall QB Denver Seay and MCHS must stop Laker air assault and Willis on the ground. Should be lots of points and very entertaining. Calloway has not played well, but still managed to win. They've got to get it going this week.

Calloway could be thinking ahead about Lone Oak next week. I'll take the home team to win 34-26

Is there a chance both Calloway and Lone Oak could be playing for 2nd behind Hopkins Central? Seems nobody is talking about the Storm while Calloway is always hyping them self up and WPSD hyping up the Flash(with good reason).

The game outcome either way won't be because the Lakers are thinking ahead. They are very focused on one game at a time, looking to improve each week. Marshall this week. Coach McKeel's rule: remember it for 24 hours. Then move on to the next game: Lone Oak.

Not a huge fan of comparing scores, but looking at the 3 team race.

Lone Oak 54 Crittenden 13

Calloway 28 Crittenden 6(without RB)

Hopkins Central 25 Trigg 0

Calloway 35 Trigg 28

Looking at stats Hopkins Central is a heavy running team while Lone Oak looks to pass, but Brown can pull it and run. Surprising looking at the stats CC has only rushed for 300 yards, but given up 332 yards rushing. Do they match up better with Lone Oak than Central? Anybody got Browns stats? Not finishing 3rd will be huge by not having to go on the road to Warren East or Franlkin Simpson in the 1st Round.

Hopkins Co Central probably has more speed than either Lone Oak or Calloway Co & didn't lose much to graduation last year. Hopkins Co Central could very easily win the district this year. I definitely see it being a 3 horse race. I like the fact that Lone Oak plays both at home which is a huge advantage. Is this years playoff format different from last years?

They have gone back to playing out of district in the playoffs. 1st plays 2nd like in the past(Franlkin Simpson, Warren East, Allen County Scottsville, Russell County. If you finish #1 or #2 in district you get to host a 1st round playoff game.....3rd and 4th go on the road.

What would happen if Lone Oak, Calloway Co & Hopkins Co Central ended up

2-1 in the regular season. What would be the tiebreaker ?

The combined total victories of the opponents they defeated during the regular season.

For example, Calloway has defeated Murray, Trigg, and Crittenden. Any teams that these schools defeat gives them a point. Murray beat Caldwell, so Calloway would get 1 point for that.

Clear as mud the way I explained it.

Strength of schedule would help you out if you had some quality wins against teams that have won some games. I would think Hopkins Co Central or Calloway would have the advantage over Lone Oak if this scenario comes into play.

Thanks, you just gave me a headache. :creepy:

I think Marshall County will pull this one out in a close one:

CC 24

Thanks for bringing this thread back around to what it was intended - Marshall vs. Calloway. Plenty of time to talk about Calloway-Lone Oak next week. This will be a high scoring affair, Lakers 42 - Marshall 31.

Marshall's secondary has some issues ... I expect Calloway will throw the ball pretty effectively, if their receivers will catch the ball. There are reports that drops have been a big problem for the Lakers.

Calloway Co. 35-31.
