That's ordinary in my book.

I don't recall being on the field of battle and being annoyed by a cow bell or air horn. It did not matter what went on in the stands. Like someone just said, "Only an annoyance" to other fans. As far as over-watering the field, growing grass high etc. I think it would be a shallow victory to do anything other than ordinary to win. As football players and fans, we all know what is morally correct.

Good memory Hatz. Not sure, but, did'nt Newport win the championship that year?

All due RESPECT to those Lynch teams. They are a bit before my time though.

I think 2nd round loss @ Lincoln County. We never could win the big game. Ranked #1 in 85' for most of the season in 3A. Result, 1st round loss vs Danville. 21-13 Still haunts us old guys.

1982, David Hensley (Cawood Trojans) scores on 4th down in overtime against Lex Tates Creek. Regular season game, but, opens the eyes of folks statewide that mountain teams are for real.

I don't know anyone who makes it through it injury free. Some guys get it worse than others. He was a great back. Loved to watch him take the pitch on a sweep and pick a hole and explode through it. I hope he does well @ UC. You guys come to Harlan this year. Hope we are competitive.

Maybe a bit off subject, but, did Joe Rosk??? go on to play any college ball? I loose track of the kids following graduation. Not sure how to spell his last name.

I coached some of the kids from Cloverfork in 5th & 6th grade football. We played for the championship that year. They are Juniors now as is my Dragon son. Those boys are TOUGH and will be an asset. Most of them, linemen.

Lot's of athletes to choose from. Plenty of strength, talent, & speed. Great coach. Looks like the support of most of the County.

I'm a dragon dad and former Trojan. 1985. I hope to find a friend who video tapes the Bear games. Can't wait to see them. They will do well. Larkey was our scout team coach back in the day as was Musick. They learned a lot from Culley. Can't wait for the season to open. Football - the best game ever!
