OK just a couple (few) of things...not just to you Ghost Rider... There is no Central in Harlan County High School. Those of us that know about football, did know how good Breathitt is. HCHS was more banged up than what people realize...no excuses... Without Blanton, we do not have the ability to throw the ball downfield as well, making us very one dimensional...and easy to defend. I'm pretty sure Breathitt County can compete very well with most of the 5A teams in district next year. This was the first "Big Stage" these kids have EVER played on. Breathitt sees this every weekend. All of us were caught up in the hype, all of us have been humbled. Bears have an off week to lick their wounds, and will play much better at Powell County. Hats off to Breathitt County (and Estill too).:ylsuper:

HC fans, Fugate is what I mean when I talk about size and speed. That kid only weighs a mere 220. Very explosive. He can be 20 down field before you know it (or 80). Breathitt had an excellent game plan. Once we finally figured out Fugate might get the ball (29-7 at the time) they started running a QB draw right behind him. We simply had no answers for Breathitt. Nice game Bobcats.:thumb:

What I mean by that is it will be a hard hitting game. I wish no injury on anyone. That saying came from one of Leonard's Post Toastie comments about the Kentucky Tennessee game in 98.

I been watching ball for a long time and I can't remember one in middle school.

Listen dawg, I'm not criticizing the overall job of the middle school coaches, I am with HBO669 on this. You have to teach kids to kick, especially given the lack of soccer (for the most part) in HC. Tonight, first play they OSK'd. Then they started kicking deep, and hit a couple of PAT's. Very refreshing to see us kicking in middle school. Kid does a pretty good job too...... I also think kids need to learn to cover kicks as well. Containment is essential to play defense, and what a better way to teach it than kick coverage.:thumb:

This is going to be a game where a suspect kicking game might cost the bears. At some point there is going to have to be more emphasis put on kicking at the middle school level in Harlan County. This onside kick business every time in middle school has done the kicking game of HCHS no favors.

This is hard to watch, however the powers that be seem fine with it and want no part in the solution, and I am not talking about the very fine coaches.

Actually construction of our new field has not yet started. Donations will gladly be accepted.:ylsuper:Moma Bear and the boosters are doing an excellent job fund raising though, hopefully by next year we will have a stadium. The school is located approx. 4 miles North of Baxter on US 119 (Rosspoint).

Breathitt Co. & Estill was somewhat surprising given that it was at Breathitt. I have not heard much talk about the Engineers, looks like they might be a contender.

Good job Bears! Man the Black Bear Nation traveled in force tonight. Lee High has a very good team. QB was awsome! Serious set of wheels, I'm talkin' 24's. Score was tied at 14 at the half. HC made adjustments at the half that made the difference. First half we could not contain the QB. Good win for the bears:dancingpa
