South Laurel will be very good this year, however it's a plus to look good at all football functions.

:dancingpa Bowling has a better chance to win it simply becouse of the teams he has to play.

I think Casey Brokman QB out of Calloway County, he is 6-2 195lbs. He had 2,507 passing yards and 31 td passes as a junior.

I have to disagree, this year's WR's are ahead of last year's group at this point in the season, still way to early to know how good their going to be.

South Laurel looked really good in their 7 on 7 games last night, they appear to have a great deal of speed at the WR postion, also Ricky Bowling was making play after play with his arm.

I'm not saying any of these mountain kids will win this thing, but the numbers Greer, Bowling, and Lewis will put up tey will be in the conversation.

I agree Phillips, Finch and Green do have a much better chance, but Bowling or Lewis could finish high if they were to make a deep run in the playoffs.

I couldn't agree more, some people are saying this could be the best line in SLHS history. Jeremy Armfield and Mark Clontz were named to the all-district team in 2007. Blake Fields is a monster on defence and he will make more big plays on offence than some might think. Fields was also an all-district performer in 2007.

I saw were L. Wombles out of South Laurel had 9 pts and 7 rebounds last night, way to go.

South Laurel has a hoss for the future in Nick Miller, he is a RB that can run and catch. I've been followig SLHS football sice 1992, and Miller is the most athletic Freshman that I've seen.

He should, but you know how most coaches are these days. I hope he get's to play though.

You'r right , it won't be easy, but non- district not as tough, and as for the district I think Pulaski is the team to beat, and everbody else is very close.

I think this is the best team at South Laurel since 1999 when they went 11-2, won the district and lost a close one to Tates Creek 42-37 in the regional finals. The offence is going to be special with Ricky Bowling at QB, Jake Cobb, Chris Mitchell, Steve Quillen and Blake Fields to make lots of big plays, and it don't hurt that all 5 OL return.

He may get a few carries then, he will help Knox Central the most as a DB in my opinion. Chad bring's alot of speed to the table.

South Laurel's OT Jeremy Armfield is being recruited by lots of big schools,he is around 6'5" 270.

That's great, is Central deep in the backfield or will Chad be the go to guy? I think even if they have some good backs he can help them out on defence.

I hear the same about the new coach, I hope he recruits our area more.
