  1. Trinity's defense was the best d on the field. Can't say that too often against a Specht coached team.
  2. Elder 22 plays 29 yards Trinity 33 plays for 259 yards Quick 7 catches for 143 and 3 touchdowns.
  3. Guess Ballard's administration will now add Byrnes to the "Do Not Play List."
  4. Ryan white returns punt 60 yards. rocks on ba 28, less that 2 mins
  5. Trinity 7-0 Rocks score on first drive easily. http://den-a.plr.liquidcompass.net/player/flash/audio_player.php?id=WGTKAM&uid=177
  6. Looks like they went 10-3 last year. FWIW, Maxpreps has them ranked 154th in the nation. I believe they can give scholarships to players given that they are in Division II but will defer to rollredroll or others more famiar with Tennessee football's schism. I think the Rocks win in this one, even given the peculiar officiating seen in Tennessee in years past. 24-14
  7. Exactly. The outcome would not have been different.
  8. No. It was played as a real game for 3 quarters. In fact Towles played the entire game, throwing a long td pass with less than a minute to go.
  9. I was surprised to see the speed differential between the teams. Seemed like Trinity had 5 or 6 guys on every tackle. Trinity's defense is really good. When was the last time Highlands was shut out for 3 quarters? You know Highlands is a great program and probably second best team in the state yet but for an int in the endzone they would've been down 38-0 after 3 quarters and just crossed midfield for the first time in the game. This was a mismatch.
  10. I think Ox has a good feel of X's program. Last year, he and Alan60 were constantly talking about how down X was and how X had no shot of beating Trinity. Many thought they were sandbagging. Rather, 48-0 and 35-7 losses to Trinity only confirmed how correct they were. He has no incentive to lie on a message board about X's merits this year. Take the man at his word (which was proven to be accurate last year) and assume it is going to be a really long year for the Tigers.
  11. Looking forward to it. Neither team should care who wins the game, as it will probably be the best in state team either faces all year. Really valuable to be able to learn so much in a "game" that doesn't affect the actual season. Can't wait to see the Rocks try to defend Towles and his ability to scramble and run. Also, anxious to see how well the Rocks can run the ball having lost Bishop. Finally, looking forward to the adjustments on offense if HHS is able to minimize Quick's involvement with Burns. In honor of the Birds, I'll be breaking out some Pogue tonight for the festivities. Good luck to both teams.
  12. I'm anxious to get CoachJ's take on this. He has always stated that Ballard would play Trinity for as long as he is the coach there as they need to beat the best to be the best. Perhaps he got a different set of orders from an administrator.
  13. Only four home games again and only 9 regular season games. I guess no one in the state was available to play 9/2 or 10/21.
  14. Wow that's saying something given how long you've coached in the Louisville area! Considering Trinity is losing no D-I talent, I assume you think next year's team will be better? Given the district change, which school will be hosting the Trinity Ballard game next year?
