I still see the bucket with about 5 seconds going in against us in the '82 Scott game. Lost by 1. That was as close as I got to playing in the regional tournament. Played 5 years of high school baseball - drew Highlands twice (even beat them once) and Campbell County 4 times. Played 4 years of high school basketball - drew Scott once, Campbell County 3 times. We drew opposite of Bishop Brossart every time. In fact, I always thought that defied the law of averages (and no, I'm not saying it would have been a lock but at least one of us would have gotten to go).

33rd - Overall, the best district in the region. Agree that Ryle is the team to beat. However, the other three have at least one D1 player (Ganns - BC, Dunn - Cooper, Ross - Conner) and other quality players to surround them. 34th - Dixie is probably the best team. Lloyd has a solid player in Molitor and St. Henry returns a few from a year ago. 35th - Beechwood and Cov Cath will battle it out for top dog. 36th - HHS and NC both lost quite a bit via graduation. However, HHS returns basically its entire pitching staff (all starting pitchers return). Teams would be wise not to look past Bellevue. They return basically everyone. They play a very solid schedule, so come post-season they will be tested and ready. Overall, the region is very balanced. No clear cut favorite (although I agree Ryle is probably #1 for the time being). Many teams go into the year with a legitimate belief they can win the 9th.

What about the various evaluation and matching services? * I am familiar with Prep Baseball Report. He has attended some of those and they seem to be well run. In theory, PBR seems like a solid way to promote the player in that it allows us to provide college coaches with evaluations of performance at PBR events, ranking, and videos. But, at the end of the day, I have no idea whether college coaches use it. I guess my question is, do college coaches review/subscribe to this site? And if they subscribe, do the rankings matter. Should you keep going to events to improve your ranking? * I have also heard of Field Level. Anyone familiar with that matching service? Is it worth it? Are there other alternatives? * Please note, we're not looking for a shortcut here. He's sending the e-mails/notes (and getting some responses), he's staying in touch, providing updates, attending camps, etc. I'm just wondering if these evaluation/matching services are another good way to provide exposure.

What is the group's thoughts on showcases/camps? Are they money grabs, good opportunities, or somewhere in between? Over the last year, I've shelled a decent amount of coin on showcases/camps. I THINK they are helpful in providing exposure - especially in the fall/winter when college coaches have the ability to attend. Just like to get some thoughts from others.

Out of the half court sets, I thought Harris did a fantastic job of finding good looks for his teammates last year. Look forward to seeing the basketball birds under the new system.
