  1. If Jenkins takes Manual to the semifinals, and Madisonville isn't even in the tourney, then Jenkins will be wearing the #1 Jersey.
  2. If you think Jenkins doesn't have any shot to win Mr. Basketball, then you are mistaken. Hood and Jenkins both have a very good chance to win Mr. B, but anything can happen. I think that is why we play the games. One thing is for sure, Jenkins must lead his team to the sweet sixteen to have any chance to win it. In the 7th it's much harder to pull this off. Does Hood need to take his team to the state tourny in order to win Mr. B?
  3. Here's a video on the Manual/Trinity game this summer at hoops. In the clip they are Jenkins 24, Samsel 30, Bond 4, and 6' 10" Nikolic 21. Towards the end you'll see Samsel passing to Jenkins for a lay in from the outside of the key and Jenkins making a nice entry pass to Nikolic http://gannett.a.mms.mavenapps.net/mms/rt/1/site/gannett-louisville-107-pub01-live/current/launch.html?maven_playerId=recruiting&maven_referralObject=774276633
  4. I can't answer that because I didn't see him play this summer against N Hardin. I did see him play at the D Smith tourney this summer at Hoops. In the game against Trinity he played the point guard position and looked pretty solid. Hope that helped answer your question.
  5. I don't think Manual should be pre-season ranked above Jeffersontown. I would reverse those two.
  6. Sean Samsel from Manual was clutch a couple of times last year as a sophomore. In the LIT last year he came off the bench and scored 20 points to help get the win against Jeffersontown. He scored 11 points in one minute with four minutes left in the game to put it out of reach. He was 5 for 7 in that game from the three.
  7. It's been a while since someone from the Louisville area has competed for Mr. Basketball. It will be a real treat to see Jenkins play in the 7th region this year. Don't miss out on this opportunity! Can Alex Nicholic the 6' 10" Junior have an impact year for the Crimsons this year and help Manual to the 7th Region title? Will he be able to give Jenkins the support he needs to win Mr. Basketball?
  8. Very good run down on all of the teams you put in your top ten. I don't know if Manual will be there with out Kimbro, though. That is a big loss to a program whether he played with them or not over the summer. No one on that team can make up for his game. Jenkins is arguably the best senior in the state, but it's alot to ask of a kid to put a team on his back night after night. They will need others to step up and take some heat off of Jenkins. Seneca is the team that will end up in the top ten by years end. They played very well this summer without their three new additions to the team.
  9. I agree. Manual is no longer a favorite to win the 7th, but they still could pull it off. It may even help them play loose because they're not supposed to win now. The pressure is all on J'town Any team in the top half of the 7th can beat anyone on a given night. Strange things can happen in the Regional tourny.
  10. Last time I checked Jenkins is a star player who can win you a championship! I think Manual will surprise some people this year, even without Kimbro. I think they have another freshman player that is pretty good. On a selfish note I wish he was staying in the area. He was fun to watch play the game. I wish him nothing but the best.
  11. Jenkins has taken his game to a higher level this past summer, which should carry over to this year making Manual very competitive. Losing Kimbro hurts, but this team can still beat anyone in the state on a given night. Junior Alex Nicholic 6' 10" will have to step up his game big time, while staying out of foul trouble. Rebounding will be a challenge for Manual with Kimbro's departure. The other players just need to do what the coach asks them to do and Manual will be fine. Coming into his second year, Coach Just has a better idea of what players can contribute to the TEAM. (There are some diamonds in the rough on this team) They all have to know their role in order to win as a team. Jenkins won't have to do it all by himself, but the ball will run through him. This is Jenkins team. He will not let Manual fail.
  12. This is the same list as it was at the end of last year. Jamal Stephenson is listed as #21 and #32 on the list. I think you will see other kids on this list that didn't have the opportunity to play much last year as sophomores. Some kids are flying under the radar and will be known after this year. The talent in Kentucky is on the rise.
  13. Manual may keep it close in the 1st half, but X will wear Manual down and bust it wide open in the second half. ST X 42 Manual 7.
  14. Is Kimbro healthy? Didn't he have some sort of surgery recently? Is he able to start practicing with the team on Oct 15th? Manual might struggle without him in the line up. He is a must for Manual to make a run this year. Who can match up with him?
  15. Williams graduated last year. I beleive he is enrolled and will play basketball for Morehead St. Samsel played many minutes last year as a sophomore and should come into his own this year. He has a really good stroke from behind the arc, while shooting 43% for the 07/08 year. He looked pretty good this summer when playing the point for Manual, showing off his good handles and excellent quickness, along with his great court vision. He also has grown and is now 6' tall. He will be counted on to distribute the ball as point guard. I think he will open up some eyes in the 7th this year. Manual has many weapons at their disposal this coming year. They will be tough to defend.
  16. I think I said it all in my statement that this team will win it they play as a team. Jenkins will undoubtedly get his points, but it is more important that the others are contributors during the year, so they are productive come tourney time. Jenkins will be the leader, so I guess time will tell. The 7th should be fun to watch this year!
  17. For Manual to be successful at tournament time, they must learn to utlize all of their players. This team will look for Jenkins to be the leader and he must lead. I've seen it before when a D1 player trys to put it all on his shoulders, that usually the team fails. If Kimbro is on the court with Jenkins this year, Manual will be a tough opponent. Kimbro creates some serious match up problems. Who do you key on when on defense, Kimbro or Jenkins? I guess pick your poison! This team, if healthy, should compete for the state championship this year.
  18. It would be nice to see the upset. Hey, they did it in soccer last week! It could happen.
  19. They will need it against ST X! They have no shot to beat X if they continue to give up big plays. Manual will have to play a perfect game to even come close to beating X.
  20. I'll go out on a wing here and pick Jenkins or Hood as the best in the state. This summer I saw a vast improvement in Jenkins game from the previous year. I didn't see Hood much because he was hurt. Cosby will get better, but the games I watched him play didn't impress me. I saw them (KY Hoopstars get crushed when they were at Speice this summer by All Ohio Red.
  21. Iroquois in the 6th with Donovan Gibbs having a break out junior year! Seneca in the 7th with alot of young talent. Look for them to upset many of the power house teams in the 7th.
  22. You guys must me really bored! Who cares who's schedule is the hardest. All that matters in the end is who wins the state championship!
  23. It's not required. Sure you can still play if you don't come to conditionings. No problem!:ylsuper:
  24. Who are some of the top underclassmen in the 7th this year? Who should we pay attention to this year? Give us some information on the player if possible. (Excellent shooter, fast, handles, athletic, etc) 1. Cosby - Jeffersontown Athletic 6' 2 slasher with a decent outside shot. 2. Kimbro - Manual Long reach to go with his 6' 3" frame. Goes to the rack well with pretty good passing skills. He has decent handles to go with his many talents. Tons of potential here. 3. Delquan Thomas - Eastern Long reach to go with his thick frame. Tough player on defense with good rebounding skills. He will be one of the leaders for Eastern.
