  1. That's what I had heard about Harrison.....He had some offers. Agree with BG Elite about Samsel. Nicolic played his best game to date, but Samsel was able to get him the ball in position to score. Samsel looks like he is filling the point guard role well for Manual. When Jenkins returns, Manual is a top tier team in the state.
  2. Alot closer than I thought it would be with Manual missing Jenkins and Trinity having two D1 players out on the court. (Sewell and Harrison)
  3. Surprised by this score. Thought Ballard would roll. ST. X is a team that might surprise some people this year.
  4. 7. Jeffersontown 5. Eastern 3. PRP 2. Manual 1. Bardstown TB Jeffersontown
  5. That was just a scrimmage game. Perry Central beat Manual in a scrimmage and it meant nothing.
  6. :thumb: I think you are dead on about North. I am glad the Crimsons played them now rather than later. I really think Manual will surprise some people this year because they will play more like a team this year versus last years squad. Manual has the talent to shoot the ball extremely well from all over the court. They didn't do that last evening. On a night when they are on, they can beat any team in the state.
  7. A good win for Manual even though they didn't shoot the ball as well as they usually shoot it. I look for big things out of this TEAM! I noticed how unselfish they played this evening. Jenkins and Samsel had 11 assists between the two of them. Good showing right out of the gate.
  8. 7. Fairdale 5. Male 3. Bullitt East 2. Trinity 1. Atherton TB Fairdale
  9. This makes the 2nd game where Jenkins has exploded early then settled in and worked to get his teammates involved. He averaged 23 points in two scrimmage games and could have easily averaged much more. I think that's what being a leader is all about. Knowing you have to have help from your teammates if your going to accomplish big things down the road especially in a region like the 7th. The starting five with Samsel at the point and Jenkins at the 2G opened up big leads in both practice games against Lexington Catholic and Perry Central. Coaches experimented with the lineups in both games and the leads changed just as you saw today with Jenkins and Samsel coming out to start the 2nd period. I don't think that will happen during the regular season. You do have to applaud Jenkins for being unselfish and putting the team first. He does have a strong chance for Mr. Basketball, but his priority during preseason has been more about team goals than self accolades.
  10. You only make positive posts about Elliott County and the other post you make are negative toward Jenkins. Why is that? Jenkins had a very solid day today in Inez after a long drive up with his team from Louisville. Exploded in the 1st quarter and gave fans some excitement when he hit all those threes in a short span. Sit most of the 2nd period only to come in and see a defense keying a doubling on him which was to be expected even in a scrimmage game.
  11. You can try to hack on Jenkins all you want as you have tried in other threads and twist facts. The fact remains is Jenkins went off the first period with 14 points on just two misses. He took only 2 shots in the 2nd period making one (hitting a fadaway from the free-throw line) when he played just over 3 minutes. He finished with 25 points on just 17 shots. Keep trying to knock the kid, but his 1st quarter blitz will be something you see a lot this year. Extremely unselfish player in today's game to a fault.
  12. As someone else pointed out, I wouldn't read too much into a scrimmage. Coach Just sat some of his starters for extended minutes in this game, getting looks at other players in game situations. Jenkins sat out the first 4 1/2 minutes of the 2nd quarter. Samsel sat out extended minutes as well. Hats off to Perry Central! They played with great intensity.
  13. From the book. Jenkins was 10 for 17 overall, not 27 shots. He finished with 25 points. Jenkins opened the game up with a 14 point first quarter including 3 straight 3s. Manual won that quarter 18 to 10. Jenkins was out to start the 2nd quarter nearly 5 minutes as PC caught up and went ahead 22 to 18 before Jenkins returned. Samsel for Manual led in assists with 9 on just one turnover. Those are the facts.
  14. I have to agree with Speedy about Jenkins. He makes Manual a contender for the 7th region and State (if they get there). Without him they wouldn' t be mentioned. Being one of the best shooters in the state, I believe the coaches want him taking any open shot that he sees. One thing that none of us know is what roles are the coaches telling the kids to play when they are out on the court? Some are there to primarily play defense, rebound and pass the ball.
  15. I agree with you on Guyn. He is one of the most athletic players in the state from what I witnessed. Very impressed with his defense as well.
  16. I agree with you. They have some good support players for Jenkins that will surprise some people this year with their play. The 6' 10" junior Nikolic is becoming a better player day by day and Manual did ok without him in the scrimmage game. :thumb:
  17. What are your expectations? Losing Kimbro really hurt Manual's chances this year. Do you think they will win the 7th region?
  18. Thanks for the recap! I thought Manual might struggle at the point with the graduation of Aaron Williams.
  19. Speedy, Can you give us a run down of the game? How did the two D1 prospects look?
  20. 11/15 Manual v. Lexington Cath at PRP 5:30PM.
  21. The really good officials are the ones that are invisible during the game. I like David Swift in the 7th.
  22. Can't confirm this, but I heard he has been to a couple of other prep schools. I think he left Mt. Zion. Maybe someone else can help with where he ended up. I still think he ends up in Louisville next year. :sssh:
