  1. I heard he is there. They do have some other talent on the team and height with Alex Nicholic (6' 10") There is a junior guard that played some decent minutes last year as a sophomore in Samsel. His shooting percentage from the 3 was pretty good. He's the kid that scored 20 points against Jeffersontown in the LIT last year going 5 for 7 from the 3 point line.
  2. Why is Manual ranked so high in the rankings? They should've lost to Central last week. If it wasn't for a botched snap on a punt with less than a minute on the clock, Manual loses.
  3. If Euton, Jackson, Flannery, and anyone else that wants to transfer to Scott County are eligible, then I don't think anyone can touch this all star team. They are the same as a prep school now. Let them play with the catholic schools in a separate division.
  4. Iroquois will win the 6th this year. They have a stand out player in Donovon Gibbs.
  5. Thanks for the information. Manual will be tough next year with Jenkins and Kimbro. It will be tough for teams to dog Jenkins with Kimbro in the line up. They still have to prove they can beat the good teams when it counts. It will be fun to watch the 7th region this year. I expect to see many good contests.
  6. Here's your link on St X violation: http://www.courier-journal.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20080815/SPORTS05/808150501/1002/SPORTS
  7. Yes he was involved with a recruiting violation last year. I believe he was suspended for 2-4 games. Aaron Cosby was recruited to J'town from Manual.
  8. Jefferson County started school this week. Does anyone know if Tony Kimbro attended Manual on the first day? He was rumored to be going to a prep school the last I heard, which was at the end of last school year. He would for sure help make Manual a power this year.
  9. Nice clip! Jenkins looks to have a sweet stroke, but you can't win with just two kids. If Kimbro doesn't play, Jenkins can't do it all by himself. Losing what I think was one of the best point guards in the state (Williams), leaves a big void. I heard the center is still pretty raw as well. Make no mistake though, Jenkins looks to be the real deal. He may even be the front runner for Mr. Basketball. Can he bring Manual to Rupp next year?
  10. Is Kimbro playing for manual or not? If he plays, then Manual is in the top 3.
  11. Cosby quit manual's team in early December 2007. I thought he would be eligible on the anniversary date of departure from Manual.
  12. Jenkins has really stepped up his game. He is a workaholic at his game and it shows. Even when he is tired he can still perform at a high level. This year he will excel for Manual, taking them to the 7th region championship. Ulike last year, the 08/09 team will work to get him the ball instead of worrying about their own stats. This alone will make a big difference for Manual. Who can stop Jenkins in the 7th?
  13. I don't think Cosby is at the camp.
  14. Is Kentucky actively recruiting Jenkins?
  15. Do you still like them to win the 7th with out Cosby? If Kimbro doesn't play, they are probably just better than an average team. Jenkins can't do it all.
  16. Who did they play? I've heard they are a big team even at the guard positions. Do they have a deep bench?
  17. I've heard ST. X is looking strong in summer ball. Only lost by two to a very good New Albany team from Indiana. Gunter will be the man for them on the inside. I heard a rumor that Carter transfered out of St. X which is a big loss for them if it is true. The real question mark for X will be the guards.
  18. Flannery is no slouch either. The real question is how do you defend against Scott Co? They have few weaknesses. The only thing that can stop them is injuries or transfers out of Scott Co.
  19. After watching Samsel play in the summer league, he is much more than just a good shooter. I was impressed with his court awareness and point guard skills. I bet he had a double/double in the game I watched. Very accurate passer of the rock along with very good handles. Look to here more from this kid.
  20. Every team needs quality guards if they want to win on a consistant basis. Corbett and Epley will need to step up their game to make Trinity a contender in the 7th.
  21. This will be a good chance to see how good Manual and Shelby County will be next year. I've read where Jenkins (Manual) is playing some really good ball in the aau circuit. He is getting stronger, quicker, and can jump higher. I heard he has no trouble dunking the ball now. According to Jody Demling's blog, he put on a real show at the adidas May Classic. Samsel (Manual) is one of the playmakers for the Spiece gym rats 2010 and is coming along really well. He is supposedly doing an awesome job running the point for his team. He's also added some inches by growing to 5' 11". He has picked up were he left off playing for Manual last year from the outside, where he shot over 42% from the three point line as a sophomore. This would be a good shootout to watch this summer!
  22. Crimsonfan seems to have a good grasp of the 7th region. You listed the top seniors to watch next year. Who are the top Junior and Sophomore players in the 7th? Any D-1 or D-2 talent in this bunch?
  23. What part of Guyn's game needs to improve in order to get his game to the D1 recruiting level?
  24. The reason is size, speed, and quickness.
