  1. Tied after 1st. 21-21. PT lead at half 38-30. Starting 4th quarter PT 53-39.
  2. As I have said before, the class A tourney was supposed to be for smaller schools who cannot compete year in year out with the big dogs. UHA has ruined it for years for those schools in the second region. A better question is how is Caldwell still in the class A tourney?
  3. Loaded! Plenty returning and should be a very entertaining team to watch play this season. Paducah Tilghman and Murray should meet in the finals of the region.
  4. Congrats to Coach Shane Decker and the Storm for ending the streak.
  5. Madisonville, McCracken, Ashland, and then pick one from that bottom 4 cause I think it could be any 1 of them. These are the 4 that I think will win their way out to the semis of the winners bracket.
  6. Madisonville hits 4 solo homeruns to advance to finals of the second region tournament. Gray hits 2 on the night, Peyton and Bean hit the other 2. Union County would not go away as they had first and third in the bottom of the 7th with 2 outs, Webb goes the distance and gets the W.
  7. Region 1 favorite will be Murray. Tilghman right behind them.
  8. Good pic broadcaster. He did a great job covering Madisonville and was very easy to talk to either in the gym or just in town. Like you sorry to hear this also.
  9. I really hope that he continues his work at Murray State. He has the program at a high level right now and it should be interesting what he is able to bring in to supplement C. Payne next year. Now had they gotten to the NCAA tourney and brought in a win or two, he may have left. But I think he really wants to get that done before he leaves. Personally I hope he stays thru 2020.
  10. The last two years at Murray State have really been exciting. Lets hope their talent level continues to rise and Prohm doesn't leave.
  11. In November I actually thought Henderson would beat Hopkinsville. I never thought they would play the season the way they did and by District tournament I really felt Hopkinsville would win. Thanks for finding the thread!
  12. I found the attendance for each session. Wednesday afternoon12,457 Wednesday night 12,124 Thursday afternoon 13,005 Thursday night 10,853 Friday afternoon 11,178 Friday night 10,860 Saturday night 12,552 Sunday afternoon 11,435 I went to KHSAA under boys basketball and where they give the box scores for each state tournament game, I went to the second game of that session and clicked on newspaper box score. (FYI)
  13. Didn't we also have a contest at the beginning of the year to pick who would go to the sweet 16? Did I miss the results of that one?
  14. Here are a couple that were texted to me, they were announced over radio. Wednesday night was 12,124. Thursday night was 10,853. Friday afternoon was 11,178. 11,432 for the finals. Once again these were sent to me during the games via text msgs. I live very close to Evansville Indiana. I watch Evansville news and sports. When they show highlights from season basketball games the gyms are nearly full. When it is sectional time their gyms are packed. I know our regional tournament was a sellout the night Henderson played Hopkinsville. The finals also drew a good crowd. Would changing the format to a super regional ( regions 1-4) (regions 5-8) and so on, would that help?
  15. 94,437 total attendance. Lowest since 1994. Cannot blame this on who was in the finals. Average was 11,800 for each session. I don't think any one session reached 13,000. Suggestions on how to increase the attendance? Or is there a change in the future? These are the figures that I have received.
  16. 2013- 17,300 2014- 14,100 2015- 11,400 Some will say it is because of who is in the finals. Some will say it is because of the change to Sunday finals. Some will say it is because of the way society has changed. Some will also say we are losing some of our older patrons and the younger generation just doesn't care. I personally think they are all a part of it. I would say in 2 years we will have to see a change made. Now I don't know what that change will be, but if things continue like the pattern we are seeing, a change is coming.
  17. Hopefully all these young men mentioned in this thread will play against Indiana and we might have a talented squad.
  18. I have not seen a championship game since making the change. Its hard enough paying for tickets, food, parking, hotel room, and add in a little shopping. I actually came home Saturday this year because it is hard just sitting around waiting. I know there are malls there, but I didn't come to Lexington to go to a mall. I want to watch basketball games. But money talks. I keep hearing people say that we can't change things about the way we do our state tournament, but this was a major change. The tradition has been changed. It was part of the "special" that our state tournament had. No longer. If I lived where I could go home each night, drive in to the city for the games, then go home. I might feel different.
  19. i believe they just said on radio that the coach is the first coach to win as a player and as a coach for the same school. Congrats!
  20. Well here is a tip, Murray High and Paducah Tilghman. Both will be a force next season in the first region.
  21. I forgot to add that Boyle Co coach gets the Billy Hicks award. LOL The opposing team fouls every time and he lets the ref know about it. PP dont know who the blood is and hope this is taken the right way, but he stays on the refs and is getting better at the pacing and animation.
