  1. Pulling for DG and the Purples. They have the experience factor but sometimes that is not enough.
  2. Most people would think that Calloway doesn't play fast. I have seen them play fast and they can move the ball around very well. Bowling Green does as well. Both coaches will try to will their way in this game. Could be the best one of the 4 today.
  3. I really thought it was a good game. I thought KCC got away from going inside and then all the sudden remembered late. Calloway band bus should get home in time for school in the morning only to turn around and come back at the end of the school day.
  4. Well several of the fouls were intentional to save the clock while trailing. Only chance was to foul and hope they missed. And that was in regulation, first overtime and second overtime. When you get behind a team that can handle the ball you dont have any other choice.
  5. We have already seen how the experience factor can play a huge role in games up here. Calloway does have a very good team. But most people don't know much about teams from the first region. KCC should win, they have Mr. Basketball but if Calloway can handle the fact its their first time here and take the first couple of punches it should be a good game.
  6. 34 to 5 in points off turnovers. Tigers win. As far as Friday goes, I think the big question will be can the big man for Owensboro play most of the game. Owensboro has the size advantage but what will the pace be like? Should be a good game.
  7. I hate to say it but Doss played poorly. Kept shooting the 3 and finished 4 for 20. Of course, they hit the one at the end which put them up 4. The game plan should have been to throw it inside every trip and this game isn't close. The lane was open for the taking and they would take it once every 8 trips? Jackets played hard and they made it interesting and I do feel they ran out of gas. Terrible way to end the game cause they actually had enough possessions to pull it off. Did Doss have 1 offensive rebound? They were outrebounded? Hats off to the Jackets for taking it to Doss and making it fun to cheer for the little guy cause we don't get to do that up here much anymore since consolidation.
  8. Packed and ready to leave at 7 am in the morn. I always looked forward to hearing my name said over and over throughout the tourney but I believe such words could not be uttered this year during ballgames. I hope that isn't true when I arrive.
  9. Only if they were to lose to Duke in the finals on a last second shot.
  10. I think the rankings were biased some. Just look back at the thread when Henderson went to Lexington and left the ranks of the unknown from western Kentucky to top 10. Personally I think both of them were deserving of being in the top 10. Hayworth does a very good job with who he gets to coach each year. There are 3 schools in Christian County and those 3 schools have won the second region since 2001. One of those schools will deserve to be in the top 10 next year. I will tell you which one sometime in October. I hope the Tigers represent the second region well this year.
  11. I like Hoptown in this one also, for the sole reason of experience. I think that is the only advantage that they have. It is a good matchup and should be a good game.
  12. Wish the tradition of Saturday morning and Saturday night championship was still the tradition. Not a fan of the finals now on Sunday.
  13. Hey guys, Auburn's strength of schedule just leaped past several more schools. They get to play Kentucky again.
  14. all you guys are forgetting that those big schools get more credit for losing to their conference foes while Murray State gets very little credit for winning 25 in a row. -said with a lot of sarcasm Quality wins is what they are asking for, In my opinion if you didn't beat UK, Duke, Virginia or Wisconsin this year. You don't have a quality win this year. A and M just lost to Auburn geez that must be a quality win for Auburn.
  15. Very good article. I think it will be a close game. These two teams have been fun to watch this year. Will not be surprised on the outcome either way. Hope they represent west Kentucky well next week.
  16. Great game to watch. The story of this game is this: First quarter PT plays man to man. They trailed 15-11. Then they went zone. Played zone the second quarter. Lead by 5 at half. Third quarter they stayed in the zone and kept the 5 point lead. With somewhere around 2 minutes left the lead was either 7 or 9. Paducah goes man, Murray nails 4 straight 3's. Add in the fact that Tilghman missed a couple of Free Throws and with 20 seconds left you got a 1 point game. Murray takes a one point lead with .4 left on the clock. I have seen Murray several times this year and would never guessed playing zone would work they way they shoot the ball. They may have been just caught off guard. But they will face Graves County tomorrow night. Calloway plays Carlisle in the other semi final game.
  17. Hey I am ok with them hosting a NIT game or two at Murray. I just feel like they should be in the ncaa. They finally jelled as a team after a rocky start and played their equals and went undefeated during the regular season. Not many teams, any conference can say or do that. Its tough. I just don't like watching big schools who are not very good, are .500 in conference play and 5 of their other wins are against schools weaker than Murray State and they get a bid.
  18. I would say that their victory over Illinois State is a decent win. Who I think would have a good shot at getting a bid. They also defeated regional foes Western Kentucky, Evansville, and Southern Illinois. Any team who can run the table in their conference deserves a look. Because that is against their equals. I have seen better MSU teams that could not go undefeated in conference play. I also understand how the committee gets all into strength of schedule and the rpi and other things, but sometimes the polls should be given a little credit also.
  19. Great game plan by the Wildcats and head coach Payton Croft. They jumped out to an early 10 point lead before UHA knew what hit them. It was 23-10 and the end of the first quarter. Day dominated the glass and Trigg continued to build their lead and they doubled up UHA 34-17 by halftime. UHA came out with more intensity in the second half but Trigg was able to answer their runs. UHA got it down to 10 once in the second half, but Trigg never took the foot off the pedal. Leading 55-37 starting the 4th quarter, UHA became more desperate and started trapping harder and committed more fouls. Trigg will play the winner of Madisonville and Webster County.
  20. Caldwell hung close thru the first half. I think they were only down 6. But the press and the traps quickly built it up to a 20 point lead. Caldwell would make a dent into the lead only to see Hoptown push it back to 20.
  21. The banked in 3 from deep is the one that really hurt. Racers played good defense for 33 seconds and the Belmont kid banks in one somewhere around a minute left. I was really expecting a foul with 9 seconds left. Then the Racers would at least get the ball back for the last shot, but they took a chance. It was another long 3 but it went in. Belmont was 15-38 behind the arc.
