I heard the Berea Community Coach McWorter was really interested in the job.

You can almost bet if Yeast is calling the offense it will be a lot of spread and zone type runs.

Southern's athletic programs are very inconsistent. I know a few of the assistant football coaches, and Buttry the basketball coach. Those guys work, work, work, but there truly has not been a class of good kids there in several years. Southern usually sends a few players to college to play, but there just haven't been several on one team in a long time. The level of coaches at Southern has never been questioned and I think Buttry as a head basketball coach is a very good choice.

What kind of offense will they use, the Mumme "AIR RAID"?

Was told last night by someone in the know there that IF there is a teaching position it will be Buttry. His wife graduated from there and he either turned it down 4 years ago or had it and something happened.

Lex Cath will be very good, but they still can not hang with Bell, Boyle, and I will put Knox Central in that category as well. Lexington Catholic may have a very skilled team, but they are not physical grinders like what is to their south.

To me it is "THE" most competitive district in class 4A.

What was their record last year?

Easy on the Bell Co. talk, you guys have to get past Knox first!

I think his wife is from there and he almost got the job the last time. Yeah with all that talent they have at Southern he shouldve been in the regional championship game atleast once by now.:eek: Kinda hard to win big when they draw Central every year.

Have heard they will come after Shane Buttry at Madison Southern or promote their top assistant.

I heard today that the Allen Co. Scottsville job will be open very soon, has anyone else heard this? :idunno:

Central has 1700 students Southern has 1000 thats just the way it is. In the city of Berea they have about 9000 people and have 2 high schools within a mile of each other. Richmond on the other hand has over 30,000 people and has MC and Model which has about 25 in its graduating class. MC is one of the better programs in the region, plus MC and MS have drawn one another 10 of the last 14 years.

I know that, but the school system can lobby to get out of the region. This kind of move would have to be made by the Board of Ed. It probably will not happen, but it makes sense for all involved.

Well the 11th region is turning into its own league for prep schools. With all these teams "moving" into Scott Co., Lex Cath., Central and Southern should consider changing regions. It has been talked about for years, but I think they should be cause Central would usually be the favorite, and Southern would be in the top half of most regions.

Could be a good game. MS has everyone back next year, thats when they will be the favorite.

If I'm not mistaken so did Keyshawn Simpson's group won the Bluegrass Conference which is in many ways the same thing (who is now a Senior). Also, the best players from the last few years at the Middle School levels are not even playing basketball anymore, and many never even dress at Central. That is a great accomplishment for those Middle School Kids, but it means nothing.

I am not a Berea fan at all, but I was surprised how little class Madison Central players, fans, and coaches showed in this win. Central, I felt played dirty all game throwing elbows, pushing, and mouthing the entire game. Berea finally had enough and the Hamilton kid fought back(number 3 I believe), and then Central's coach walked out on the floor and did not get a technical called on him. I have watched Central play at least 10 times this year, and can not believe the players and coaches acted the way they did. Another thing is why Central played with this much emotion against Berea, and did not show this versus Scott Co., Lex Cath, and teams that really matter. I guess beating teams in the 44th district is all that matters. The Indians better grow up soon, because the pantry is getting pretty empty after this year.
