I heard today that the Allen Co. Scottsville job will be open very soon, has anyone else heard this? :idunno:

If I'm not mistaken I believe it is open. Something about Coach Shelton's wife being re-located or something? Someone else might have some more information.

He is, but he just took the head coaching job at Barren County last year. I'm not sure if he'd jump ship this quickly. It'd be a good fit for him if he did though.

Have heard they will come after Shane Buttry at Madison Southern or promote their top assistant.

Hire someone with ties to JD Strange. He knew how to win games in the 4th region tourney. ACS has one won region tourney game since 1996.

What has Buttry ever won? He may be an excellent coach but you couldn't tell from what he has accomplished.

I think his wife is from there and he almost got the job the last time. Yeah with all that talent they have at Southern he shouldve been in the regional championship game atleast once by now.:eek: Kinda hard to win big when they draw Central every year.

I heard former girls coach at Grant County Bert Richey is interested in returning home and taking the boys job at Allen Co-Scotsville. I am sure his wife could return and help the Lady Hilltoppers as well. Her brother, Jeff Walz is doing a great job at Louisville.

Are all of these rumors or truth?

I'm betting they stay in-house with this hire.

Cunningham - Barren Coach ACS Graduate - Had great run as a player there

Buttry - Local Ties might want to return home

Willet - Current assistant and paid his dues

Combs - Coach at Cumberland Co.

Was told last night by someone in the know there that IF there is a teaching position it will be Buttry. His wife graduated from there and he either turned it down 4 years ago or had it and something happened.

The question is does Buttry want the job?

What has Buttry ever won? The school has only won the district championship once in school history. It's not about the x's and o's; its about the Jimmy and joe's. THERE ARE NO ATHLETES AT SOUTHERN!!!!! Rick Pitino would struggle there. JMO
