No it wasn't their first they were at Grant Co. and Anderson, OH last week. No one really at the Grant Co. 7 on 7. Played well in a weather shortened game vs Anderson. They are quick. I agree we have to be able to throw the ball or we will see 8-9 in the box.

All right guys I would like to know how my Pioneers looked. Sounds like the Birds are loaded with athletes yet again. But what about Simon what was your opinion.

Last rumor I heard was Boone. . . Haven't heard SK in about 5 months.

Top O-line unit next season in the state.

Simon returns three starters anchored by 6'4" 300 Jordan Hansel. (He is on everyones short list, on a side note stopped by SK yesterday and it looked like the entire UC coaching staff was there.) Derick Piccarilo 5'11" 240ish and 5'11 250 Adam Heindrick(sp) also return. They will have two other solid replacements for the two graduating seniors. -

Asbury did well in NKY this year inking the Figgins twins from Simon Kenton as well. Congtrats Ashley and good luck, I am sure you will do NKY proud. -
Northern Kentucky 6A, Boone, Conner, Ryle, Simon Kenton, Campbell Co. and Cooper. With the exception of Cooper these 5 are pretty strong year in year out.

liveblue4ever replied to kywldcat01's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
Realy now, given that era you may have been drinking the Jim Jones cool-aide. Let me run down the athletes on that team for you: McKinley Division 1 basketball UK Dixon Division 1 basketball EKU Mier D3 Thomas More 2 sport athlete average Double figures in BB Mullins D1AA Football WKU Ponzer NAIA D1 Football Hanover Medley D1 Baseball WKU Daughtery D2 baseball NKU And they all were good in the class room. No Simon had no athletes at all that year. -
Casey County 54 Simon Kenton 44
liveblue4ever replied to paNDA's topic in KY Girls Basketball (High School)
The refs were TERRIBLE!!!!!!!!! Simon Kenton tallied 31 fouls (2 starters fouled out and a very big sixth man) while Casey only had 15...??? That's ridiculous! -
Listen no doubt a great honor, but I bet those who didn't win a state championship would trade the Miss/Mr. Basketball for the State Tourny MVP and a ring. Just ask Phil Cox if he would trade his 1981 Mr. Basketball for Troy McKinley's State Tourny MVP and ring. I bet he would.

Defense!!!!!!!!!!unbelievable -
You are right Miss KY doesn't mean much. We had a memeber of our guys team get snubbed as well. But you know he probably wouldn't trade that State Tourny MVP for Mr. Basketball. Go Chels and kick some tail!!!!

So basicly what you are saying is that she didn't play AAU (which has nothing to do with school ball IMO) and Coach Stowers didn't let her score 40 a night in blowout wins so she would average 30+ and 10 boards. Okay I get it now.:irked::irked:

All I know is that Coach Stowers couldn't get the starters out quick enough after that foul. -

NeerFan you got to come and see these ladies play. Their defence will just lock you down. Anderson did not score in the third until nearly the two minute mark. -

Game wasn't even as close as the score shows. Starters got pulled when Anderson started throwing cheap shots. REPEAT!!!!!!! There shall be a party in Independence! -

Why is everybody against SK? Is it because they are new in the region or just because they are good? -

Sk pulled out in the 3rd quarter and never looked back.Oldham tried fighting back but didn't get too far. Tolliver had 21 and L. Figgins had 10. Kayla Smith had a huge game for the Pioneers with 9 blocks and 11 boards. -
