JTown, Male, Eastern, Ballard, and Manual will all start top 20. Seneca is loaded and Trinity both will vie for the top 20 too. No question the 11th was better last year, but not this year. I'm still trying to figure out how Doss beat Franklin County this summer at Jtown.

North Hardin is top 5. No teams in top 5 from state's toughest region. Manual nearly double digit wins against top 10 and top 20 teams last season. Jeffersontown returns all starters (except Gagel) and adds a top player in the state.

Sporting News National All-American team lists Jon Hood, Jacob Jenkins, Aaron Cosby, Greg Johnson, Richie Phares, Dakotah Euton, Leonard Macon, and Vinnie Zollo as honorable mentions. Sporting News selected Jacob Jenkins for a second year straight on the Louisville All Metro team of five. Aaron Cosby also was selected to this year's team.

Vee Sanford is an excellent player and equally good young man. He will shine for Lexington Catholic this season. I also think Greg Johnson of North Hardin is a top 10 talent. He'll be one to watch too.

The ommission of Louisville players is okay. Jenkins and Cosby both have multiple offers and both have offers from a BCS high major programs.

That's a very good question. Ridge Wilson has committed to play football at the University of Kentucky. If he chooses to play, then Central will be a strong team once again. Even without Ridge, I would never count out coach Bibby. He's an excellent teacher of the game. This is a a good time to give congrats to Ridge too on his accomplishment of a scholarship to UK.

You know that he had wrist surgery and has recovered 100%. You also know that he played pick-up games in open gym. So yeah, he will be practicing come October. With Kimbro in the line-up, Jenkins will be able to play at the 2 and see some time at 1. Enjoy the ride.

Stenzel grew 3" over the past 2 months? He's going to be 6'9" then when he's done.

It is what it is. You can't take a ranking onto the court with you nor does it automatically set you up to outperform others. Its fun watching a player bury some of those old rankings and "earning" his spot though. The work is never over.

Manual is not a lock to win the 7th region. You'll earn that ticket to Rupp in that region year in and year out.

Manual will have several players that can step up. Sean Samsel will be counted on at the point along with Phil Bond and Bruce Bell. Harold Calhoun is an undersized forward at 6'2 but is a tough rebounder and is strong as a bull and is a returning starter. Alex Nikolic at 6'10 will anchor the post and is likely one of the most improved players in the region. Derek Woodmore, who is excelling at football as a receiver, will add more speed and a an execellent defender to the lineup and depth with Miles Mitchell whose a good shooter from the arc. Manual will have the top one-two punch around with Jenkins and Kimbro, height, quickness, and athletism, and a top coach in Just. A schedule that's second to none in the state's toughest region. Should be a lot of fun.

A 23 win season, most in quite some time. An LIT title, first for Manual in 50 years, a 3rd place finish in the KOB with a win over Fayette, GA. A district title over then highly ranked Male. Jenkins was 3rd on the team in shot attempts but led the team in scoring amongst 4 double digit scorers and was 2nd in assists.
