For Manual to be successful at tournament time, they must learn to utlize all of their players. This team will look for Jenkins to be the leader and he must lead. I've seen it before when a D1 player trys to put it all on his shoulders, that usually the team fails.

If Kimbro is on the court with Jenkins this year, Manual will be a tough opponent. Kimbro creates some serious match up problems. Who do you key on when on defense, Kimbro or Jenkins? I guess pick your poison!

This team, if healthy, should compete for the state championship this year.

I have J-Town and Manual as my co #5 pre-season teams in the state. Which ever one comes out of the 7th will make a run to Saturday. Male, Eastern, Ballard, and Seneca are capable of pulling a big upset and capable of being Top 20 teams. 7th Region is the toughest in the state night in and night out.

Good rundown. What's your top five again?

Its funny that your name is passtheball, because Jenkins looks to get his points. He takes many bad shots, and forces a lot. I think when he plays inside himself he is much better.

Jenkins was 3rd on the team in shot attempts but led the team in scoring amongst 4 double digit scorers and was 2nd in assists.

I think I said it all in my statement that this team will win it they play as a team. Jenkins will undoubtedly get his points, but it is more important that the others are contributors during the year, so they are productive come tourney time.

Jenkins will be the leader, so I guess time will tell. The 7th should be fun to watch this year!

Who does everyone think will be the favoirte in the 7th this year? Manual or J-town? Also how good is Ballard?

Saw his AAU games, he shot the ball well over 20 times every game and took horrible shots, maybe he will change during the season.

Your statement now means very little. I know where you are coming from after reading your other posts and who you support. Good luck to you.

First let me say don't know this kid personally. I only know who he is as I have seen him play since he was a 5th grader in AAU competition. I recall he was more of an inside player when he was younger with a very good mid range shot. I have seen him play at least once in the last 3 years. He has a very good outside stroke, and yes he probably forces some shots as many good high school players do although I have seen him make some tough shots. From what I have heard he will get an opportunity to play college ball somewhere. So that being the case he shouldn't feel any pressure to put up numbers. All he really has to do is play team ball and play to win. I expect he will have a very productive year.

A 23 win season, most in quite some time. An LIT title, first for Manual in 50 years, a 3rd place finish in the KOB with a win over Fayette, GA. A district title over then highly ranked Male. Nearly double digit wins against top 20 teams last year. Invites to every major instate event. Jenkins helped lead Manual to quite a season and yes he has several choices for college and has already taken 2 official visits with 3 left. Enjoy your season.

We have all heard about how good Kimbro and Jenkins is. I think both are very good at this level. But who else is impact players for Manual? I really don't know much about them except for those 2 players.

Is Samsel and Williams, still playing?

Manual will have several players that can step up. Sean Samsel will be counted on at the point along with Phil Bond and Bruce Bell. Harold Calhoun is an undersized forward at 6'2 but is a tough rebounder and is strong as a bull and is a returning starter. Alex Nikolic at 6'10 will anchor the post and is likely one of the most improved players in the region. Derek Woodmore, who is excelling at football as a receiver, will add more speed and a an execellent defender to the lineup and depth with Miles Mitchell whose a good shooter from the arc. Manual will have the top one-two punch around with Jenkins and Kimbro, height, quickness, and athletism, and a top coach in Just. A schedule that's second to none in the state's toughest region. Should be a lot of fun.
