Manual will have several players that can step up. Sean Samsel will be counted on at the point along with Phil Bond and Bruce Bell. Harold Calhoun is an undersized forward at 6'2 but is a tough rebounder and is strong as a bull and is a returning starter. Alex Nikolic at 6'10 will anchor the post and is likely one of the most improved players in the region. Derek Woodmore, who is excelling at football as a receiver, will add more speed and a an execellent defender to the lineup and depth with Miles Mitchell whose a good shooter from the arc. Manual will have the top one-two punch around with Jenkins and Kimbro, height, quickness, and athletism, and a top coach in Just. A schedule that's second to none in the state's toughest region. Should be a lot of fun.

I would propose you mean "one of, if not the". At least that is how many of us will choose to read it.

Your statement now means very little. I know where you are coming from after reading your other posts and who you support. Good luck to you.

Not sure what that means. I think Jenkins is a good player, anyone who can get D1 offers in, but I'm just saying what I saw.

Everyone needs to get back to discussing Manual. Take any other comments to the PM's.

Manual will have a great team, clearly at least top five to start the season, and I would have them in my top 3. I hope to see them play at some point.

Is Samsel and Williams, still playing?

Williams graduated last year. I beleive he is enrolled and will play basketball for Morehead St.

Samsel played many minutes last year as a sophomore and should come into his own this year. He has a really good stroke from behind the arc, while shooting 43% for the 07/08 year. He looked pretty good this summer when playing the point for Manual, showing off his good handles and excellent quickness, along with his great court vision. He also has grown and is now 6' tall. He will be counted on to distribute the ball as point guard. I think he will open up some eyes in the 7th this year. Manual has many weapons at their disposal this coming year. They will be tough to defend.

Thanks and pass along my best, to A.D. "Z" as he's a great guy.
A 23 win season, most in quite some time. An LIT title, first for Manual in 50 years, a 3rd place finish in the KOB with a win over Fayette, GA. A district title over then highly ranked Male. Nearly double digit wins against top 20 teams last year. Invites to every major instate event. Jenkins helped lead Manual to quite a season and yes he has several choices for college and has already taken 2 official visits with 3 left. Enjoy your season.
Is Manual a Cod lock to win the 7th?

Manual is not a lock to win the 7th region. You'll earn that ticket to Rupp in that region year in and year out.

Is Kimbro healthy? Didn't he have some sort of surgery recently? Is he able to start practicing with the team on Oct 15th?

Manual might struggle without him in the line up. He is a must for Manual to make a run this year. Who can match up with him?

You know that he had wrist surgery and has recovered 100%. You also know that he played pick-up games in open gym. So yeah, he will be practicing come October. With Kimbro in the line-up, Jenkins will be able to play at the 2 and see some time at 1. Enjoy the ride.

No way! They should be co-favorites with J-town (who is picking up a Manual transfer). But don't forget about others such as Ballard, Male, and Trinity who all return good players and who I think are top 25 teams.

I agree with you except I don't think Trinity is that strong. I believe the teams you mentioned along with Lou. Eastern are the top teams in the region.

Trinity???? TOP 25????? No No

Trinity???? TOP 25????? No No

Trinity will be solid returning Sewell and Little and they a have a good supporting cast. I agree, they will have work to do to get into the top 25!

They may give people trouble although I would place them in a group below Manual and Jtown who should be the favorites.

After that, I think you could see any of the following: Eastern, Ballard, Male, Trinity, and Seneca.

Seneca will be the team that will raise some eyebrows with a solid group of young players returning(at least three or four of last year's starters) and the addition of Deonte Maddox + supposedly two quality transfers from New York area, assuming everybody's eligible?

I agree with earlier posts that the 7th region will replace the 11th as the region with the most top 25 teams this season. Should be fun!!
