VOR, Coach Schumate is a very good coach, but right now the edge has to go to Coach Faust. He is notorious for taking teams with little talent and making them a tough team by mid-late season. He is very good at developing and working with what he has. I have no doubt in my mind though that Coach Schumate will do much bigger things in the future than just making the region tourney. Eventually, he'll move on somewhere bigger and start winning district championships and contending for region championships year in and year out. Hate to say it, but that just won't happen for him at Beechwood, especially having to compete against Holmes, Covcath, and Holy Cross year in and year out..

The tickets are $8 for the quarters and semi's...they won't clear the arena in between games. For the 10th region, since all four of the quarters games are being held the same day, if you want, you can buy a ticket for $12 that will allow you to leave and re enter the arena after games, if you'd like to leave and go grab a bite to eat during a game that you aren't interested in seeing. If you don't plan on leaving, you can just pay $8 and watch all four of the games on Saturday...Does that make sense now?

Holmes got a pretty good draw, being in the lower bracket with Dixie, NCC, and Ryle.

BOKC sits probably about a quarter mile off of 27. When you get to the NKU campus, turn left on to Nunn Drive and you can see the arena from there. You're probably going to travel around 45-50 miles from Cynthiana to NKU, taking 27 all the way up.

The 7th is really a 3 horse race. Eastern is 2-0 against Ballard. Ballard is 2-0 against J'town. J'town is 2-0 against Eastern. Depending on the draw, I feel like either J'town or Ballard comes out of the 7th.

I'm not too sure about that. I expect a lot of 9th region fans to be there for the 10th region game, just as a lot of 10th region fans will stay after to see the 9th region championship. There should be 4 great teams in the finals. Assuming all 4 favorites make it, and Holmes/Boone are in opposite brackets, there would be 4 top 15 teams playing in the same venue that night. (Holmes, Boone, GRC, Mason Co)

The key to last night's game, besides Holmes' defense, was the 18-4 run that they went on after Beechwood took an early 4-2 lead. Beechwood never seemed to recover as a 10+ point lead is just too hard to overcome against Holmes. Holmes did a nice job being aggressive and taking it to the rim. Smith and Snyder both got in foul trouble which made Beechwood VERY small and allowed Pittman and JJ to clean up around the rim. The only negative I saw in regards to Holmes was when they had a 15+ point lead early in the 4th, they started settling for jumpers rather than continuing to be aggressive and use their height around the rim. They corrected this late in the 4th quarter and finally started to pull away.

I agree 100%. Any team that looks past B-wood will be going home. They have already showed they can beat Highlands. The 35th owns the 9th and I don't see it changing. Last night B-wood ran into a buzz-saw, Holmes defense was everywhere. I think B-wood will respond and start the 9th off with a bang.

Not only have they appeared in 3 of the last 4, but they won all 3 they have been in.

Congrats, to Holmes on another 27-2 season. When I look back at the whole regular season, I can't believe they finshed again with only two losses. The schedule this year was twice as tuff. Who thought after the BS lost, Holmes would finish 27-2. I know I didn't. I think what Holmes has accomplished in the regular season is being over-looked because of the low scores. A win is a win [flat out]. Holmes has played 29 games and had a chance to win all 29. They have been in the game or winning going in to the 4th quarter of every game this year. Henley will have the Dawgs ready!
