You've complained about this for the past 2 years when it comes to Highlands. If Highlands was doing something illegal, the refs would call a foul. Until then, as you said, teams need to learn to adjust. If anything, MORE fouls should be called on Highlands, using your theory that they do this, because refs are well aware of their reputation defensively.

BGP is the only poll that doesn't have Boone in the top 10. Massey, Cantrall, Litkenhouse, Calpreps, and Maxpreps all 5 have Boone in the top 10.

I agree...AC IMO isn't a top 10 caliber team.

Switch Holmes and EC and I agree with you. I wouldn't put EC ahead of Holmes for the simple fact that their resume is much more impressive to date and outside of one slip up last week, this team has won 25 of their last 26.

I wasn't at the game either, but from the sounds of it, atleast the second foul should have been a t or flagrant for taunting. I don't want to say the first one was because I know Smith isn't that type of kid to do that, but if someone fouls you hard, like stated in the paper, and then proceeds to stand over you and talk trash, something needs to be done. I'm sure Scott fans would have said the same thing had it happened to one of their players.

I know SK is really struggling this year, but when CCH starts attacking and getting to the rim and throwing the ball inside, good things happen. Hopefully Coach L realizes this as well. It's when they try to become a perimeter team that they start to struggle. Keep feeding those bigs down low and have Luke and Alex get in the lane. Good things will come.

Also, If we're going to talk about officiating going one side, why was a Technical or flagrant foul not called in either of these situations: As Lother went in for a layup with 4:50 remaining, he was slammed into the padded wall by Scott point guard Kellen Smith. ...With 1:23 left, Lother was hacked by bulky forward Andrew Wilson, who proceeded to stand in front of Lother and start trash talking. Again, Lother walked calmly to the free-throw line and made both shots.

I think a few of the Scott fans complaining about the officiating need to see Coach Carr's comment: "The referees didn't lose the game for us," Carr said. "We lost the game by losing our composure, and that starts at the top with me. Everyone knows they play a physical style of in your face defense so why do we constantly complain about it? A few of the Boone fans did the same thing when they lost to Highlands earlier in the year as well.

I'm not surprised at all that Holmes didn't drop in the rankings considering their only losses are the second game of the year on Dec 5th and then to top 10 Boone on the road. IMO Scott Co, Holmes, and Eastern are the top 3 teams in the state RIGHT NOW. I'd probably include EC in my top 5 though...right around #4 or #5.

Lother is definetly one tough hombre for his size. I watched him go toe to toe a few times with Pittman in the Holmes/Highlands game. He looked like an elementary kid next to him but stood his ground. :lol:

Got all three of them. I have family in town right now from New York and they used their Iphone to record the majority of the game. I'll post it on here whenever they upload it to the computer. :thumb:

Grubbs is the unsung hero for the Birds down low. He might not put up the same offensive numbers as Dill or Watson, but banging with him down low the whole game really wears the opposition down.

I said in the prediction thread that the Birds defensive intensity would really frustrate Scott down low.

Key to beating Bryan Station is forcing them to play a halfcourt game. If teams don't press them, Bryan Station struggles to score. With that said, nice win for the Defenders.

Tough loss for the Cards, but FC is a solid team. I expect both to be in the thick of things here in 3 weeks in their respective region.

I agree...Holmes also got a lot of loose balls tonight. The Conner fans sitting around me were very impressed with the intensity they had defensively and on the boards.
