  1. Looks like they were finishing the field tonight!!! A believe there is also a new scoreboard.
  2. I usually got to see the field everyday and the changes were amazing! The field looks amazing.
  3. I went and played football at a college in Ohio 6 hours from home. In my signing class we had kids from all over including California, Florida, Texas, New York, The Bahamas, Kansas, Wisconsin, Tennessee, and every state that borders Ohio. Almost every school in the country recruits Florida and the players go all over to play. I am no longer at that school and lots of the other out of state players usually leave as well but there are a whole lot of players from those states mentioned above that are still there playing.
  4. Coach Crain was the offensive coordinator, now Steven Collins will have that title. Last years offensive line coach was Josh Willoughby. I have heard that Coach Crain will be coaching the offensive line but I do not know how true that is, just something I have heard. Maybe someone can confirm or deny that?
  5. From Montgomery County Andre McCall, Patrick Jorgensen, Tyler Murphy, and Zach Hood will be playing. First practice for the west is today. Sackmaster planned to attend but i wil be working until 12:30 that night so if it rains i will be able to make it to the game if it is moved to saturday. Hopefully i can get ahold of the gamefilm if i don't get to the game!
  6. Accoring to the team site Steven Collins from Union Grove High School in Georgia was hired and i believe he will be the offensive coordinator. Also Mike Manley who is from Mount Sterling and is a vertern coach his most recent coaching job is was at Francis Howell Central in Missouri. Here are the coaches bios. http://www.hometeamsonline.com/teams/default.asp?u=MCHSINDIANS&t=c&s=football&p=coaches
  7. I hope they had more than one catcher for a team, 90 degrees in all that equipment for multiple games can take its toll on the body.
  8. Congrats to Coach Shearer! He recruited me out of high school, although i didn't go to Cumberlands it wasn't because of him. He is a great guy and will be missed at Cumberlands. Good luck Russ.
  9. According to Montgomery County's team site the NE-KY East West all star game is June 18th at 7:30 at Morehead. Montgomery will have Andre McCall, Zach Hood, Tyler Murphy, and Patrick Jorgensen play in the game. Info came from http://www.mcindiansfootball.com
  10. Right in the backyard of Cumberlands and they go to Union. Congrats to both players. What posistions will they be playing?
  11. I was at the game last night, it was a great game! I was sitting in the front row in left center field, batting practice was crazy!
  12. Want-Georgia(state i was born in) Not-Ohio(did that for a year, never again)
  13. WOW!!!! http://highschool.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=1074494 http://www.allenisd.org/20061061015583133/lib/20061061015583133/Bond%20Project%20Artwork-Files/Stadium%20Update.pdf
  14. Not a done deal yet. http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/draft10/news/story?id=5085644
  15. Correct, i knew the Rec Bowl had a committee but i didn't know anything about the Prep Classic. What would the committee have to do to get top teams in the state to come back to the Rec Bowl?
  16. I agree with you i remember watching some great rec bowls including Mason County when they had Lofton and Grutza, E-town with Chris Todd, Highlands with Gino G., Boyle County after a state championship. There was also another great player from Lesie County named Tim Couch who ended up being a pretty good player. Last year the rec bowl was only 1 game, Montgomery vs Harrison, this is a far cry from what the game used to be. Montgomery County hosts the Joe B. Hall prep classic in basketball, this is the best day of Kentucky high school basketball, now if the rec bowl can get back to where it was then it can be the best day of high school football in the state. What do you think it would take to get some of the top teams to play in the rec bowl?
  17. The facilities at Montgomery County are on the same level as any team in the mid south conference. There has been some great football played on the grass that was there, but the turf will look amazing. As i was saying the facilities are more than top notch featuring a football only weight room with 8 power racks, brandnew dumbbells from 5-100 pounds, a 2 year old locker room with all wooden lockers and carpet. Also in the locker room there is a drop down screen and projector for game film. The indians also have 2 practice fields featuring a goal post on one of them, and a carport for shade during water breaks. Coach Gooch has done so much for the program, if you saw things now you wouldn't believe where they were 6 years ago.
  18. I have heard that from many sources, not from the football coaches but from people in the school and it was in the news paper. This puts Montgomery County's facilities in the top tier of the state.
  19. Personally i think high school 40s are a joke. There are just too many factors, unless they are done at a combine with an electrionic timer, otherwise the margin of error can be too high. Also most college line coaches do not care about the 40, most are more concerned about the shuttle or just the 20.
  20. I do not know about any teams this year but down and dirty was always a popular team camp as well as hawg heaven.
  21. What position will he be playing? Also what is some information on this kid?
  22. One of my best friends is an SAE at Kentucky, but he does not live in the house. He told me the whole story before it broke on the news. It was cool watching the 6 o'clock news with him when it was the main story, and it was cool that i knew some facts that were not on the news. It is sorry that all the guys lost the house because of the bad decision of a couple guys.
