I absolutely agree...and all we have discussed the past few years is "the 9th officials are too ticky-tack and it hurts our teams when we go to Diddle...where they let it get physical"...we got what we asked for

Boone would have preferred her to be healthy as well...the slow deliberate style hurt Boone real bad because they weren't prepared since no one knew Court was hurt...NCC's press would have been totally ineffective against Sandlin and Bradley...It's old news...however, the score would have been a little higher with the same outcome. Boone has one strong/confident ballhandler this year...she will have to pass thru the NCC press some or she will wear down.

Yep...and when she came out of the game against HHS...they immediately put on the pressure and NCC was in trouble...she has to come right back in to settle things down. Those things never get measured in a box score.

Depends on the draw...BC may have to beat NCC in the 2nd round and then Ryle in the finals...or Ryle may have to beat NCC then Boone in the finals...or NCC may have to beat Ryle or Boone and face the other team in the finals. There, clear as mud! A lot riding on the draw...

It was effective in the 4th qtr in the first game and I'm sure that factored into the decision to open this game with the same press...I absolutely agree they sat in it too long.

Two #1 seeds will be placed in the upper bracket and two will be placed in the lower bracket...Ryle will be in the opposite bracket as Boone so they can only play in the finals. However, I could be wrong? Waiting on paNDA to give a little help here Saturday's draw will be big.

Ryle has a decent press and NCC has a real good press...it will be interesting to see how effective the press is going to be on a college floor. Sandfoss and Sandlin will slice-up most presses by themselves on a HS floor. It will take a lot of gas out of the tank on that floor and one of them will have to do it on back-to-back night's potentially.

Yes, 4th team is gone. Nope, I really don't see any other teams with a chance...it would take a total "A" game by a team and a "D" game by another team...IMO. Now, I'm pretty sure there is a chance that Boone could have to beat both of them as well...right? if BC and NCC are placed on the same bracket they could play each other in the 2nd round...thus giving Ryle the huge advantage. Am I wrong about that?

I hear ya...it's just a BC girl's basketball thing...just like HHS deals with it in FB...and every other school that is highly successful in a particular sport has to deal with it as well. It goes with the territory and there are haters at all levels. Good luck to you guy's the rest of the way!

Absolutely correct. I'm surprised the Ryle faithful aren't questioning the coaching move rather than blaming the ref's. She should have sat earlier, dropped back into the zone much earlier, and put her back on the floor "if" the game appeared to be getting away. I've seen BC, Ryle, and NCC this week...none of them looked very good. I'm sure a lot was due to the intense rivalries (big stage) I'm sure; however, "all" 3 teams looked very beatable and I did not see a clear-cut favorite. Winning the region will require consistency and some luck...so this thing is up in the air.

As I said earlier in the year...the 9th region (and NKY) is way down except for the top 3, perhaps 4, teams.

I'm surprised the mod's let you take a shot like that without reprimand. I'm guessing the Ft Thomas/Campbell girl's will start finding their way to the hill based on the recent success...success tends to do that and nothing "shady" has to happen. And I bet Dawn will coach whomever shows up and not tell them to go babk where they came from...ya think?

Not sure, but I'm not touching it. Back to the game...it was a good game. HHS went on that quick 10-0 run to take the lead in the 3rd, but a combination of the energy it took and a the timeout/adjustment by Dawn...it quickly turned back in NCC's favor and was pretty much in hand the rest of the way. Two quick baskets by Allen as the final seconds ticked off made the game appear closer than was...if NCC converts the front-end of three straight 1-1's, doesn't give up those 4 give-me points at the end...they win is closer to 20pts.

I agree...TM is very guard heavy, but adding Katie is way too good to pass up if that's where she wants to go.

I absolutely agree...and just a couple of district titles also...right? The depth and talent was there to do special things over those years...great season records, but seemed to be a totally different team in the post season. I hope those two continue their careers somewhere...solid young ladies!

This exact discussion happened a couple of years ago when these two teams drew each other. The game was at HHS and they ended NCC's season (if I remember correctly). At that time someone said there was only 2 districts left in the state that still blind draw. I'm just trying to recall that conversation so I have no idea if it's right or wrong...so don't hammer me if it's incorrect. Both teams are strong so it's good it's on a neutral floor so there's no advantage from that aspect.

For the past 3-4yrs they have probably had the deepest bench in the region... They will need some unsung heros to step up or the guards will run out of gas against the press.

You didn't read my posts closely my friend...I said above "I'll take NCC in a dogfight with their press, Bird TO's, being a big factor". See, we finally agreed on something...how bout that!
