Is there a taller team in the state than this?

Featured Replies

If there is, then, wow. Six kids for Washington County at 6'0 or taller. The Turner girl had a game of I think it was 29 rebounds against Boyle Co. early in the season.

Manual had a team like that a couple of years ago...

Can't picture there being a taller team, but height did not equate to wins

7-16, I believe.

That's the thing, they're very raw. A couple of those girls -- including the 6'5 girl -- have only been playing basketball a couple years.

Can I get the 6'5' girl to transfer to Ryle next year? Ha, ha!

Probably not, though, because if my information is correct, she is the sister of a St. Catharine College student and a Somalian refugee. This is only her second year of hoops, and her game is extremely raw. However, with her natural gifts of height and athleticism, the right college coach could develop her into a major impact player. She's improved tremendously from the beginning of the season to now.

I'm surprised the mod's let you take a shot like that without reprimand.

I'm guessing the Ft Thomas/Campbell girl's will start finding their way to the hill based on the recent success...success tends to do that and nothing "shady" has to happen. And I bet Dawn will coach whomever shows up and not tell them to go babk where they came from...ya think?

Jim, I think the family might be Rwandan refugees. But either way, it's a very interesting story. Their scorekeeper told us Garrard County folks all about at an early season game between the two schools. Very interesting.

Now, don't even get me started on Ryle :)

I would agree. We already get blamed for recruiting up on the hill.Especially being a private school.Ron would love to find a 6'5" girl and her end up tranferring to NCC, but he'll take talent and heart first. I was just playing with the other poster on the 6'5" girl cause I know the history. I didn't think I was violating any rules. There are alot of rules!:D People just nedd to lighten up and not take everything to heart. I'm not saying you Crunch- Time just people. Whatever happened over there has made most of the people very sensitive to this subject.
