I bet Mason Co is the underdog in this game right? Lol. Mason by atleast another 40 considering Augusta has lost both games to St. Pat who Mason... Well you get the idea.

Well you know Hopson has been stepping up lately these last couple of games. If he keeps it up and doesn't stop with his effort he is giving and makes a run in the Sweet 16 then I think he has a greater chance over Mack and a Slight edge over Miller. IMO Hopson will get it because of everything in general (and he isn't going to Mississippi so we don't have to worry about that). But when was the last time someone with so much NATIONAl hype came from Kentucky? How is he not going to win Mr. Basketball? A deep run or win in the tournament would definitly help I think. I'm pretty sure of this though. Whoever wins I bet this is probably the closest it's ever been between three people (Hopson, Mack, and Miller) and probably closer between two people (Hopson and Miller). Think maybe this year they could go for a Mr. Basketball Team? Would be pretty nice.

Tough district UH is in. We are headed to region now.

Who might be the darkhouse in your opinion?

While I haven't personally seen him play i'm sure Mack is an excellent player as well... But during this whole season it has been about Hopson and Miller and I don't believe that there is anything different now. Whichever gets his team the furthest will win it IMO. As for Hopson. I've seen UH play quite a few times this year and I will agree with everyone that he is lazy SOMETIMES. However, lazy or not, the kid is obviously doing something right don't you think? Congrats to all the kids and good luck, have fun with it.

I'd have to agree with you although I haven't seen every team in the state so I don't know how they fare when it comes to conditioning. I know UH has some pretty serious practice's throughout the year so I'm sure they are good to go for districts and region. UH is 2-0 vs 11th region teams (Madision Central, and Tates Creek). So they haven't played any of the "Powerhouses" out of the 11th yet. But any of these three teams can play with the rest of the 11th so I think that if UH can get that first round win they might have a shot. Only problem would be you could face possible either the 7th or 9th in the Semi's and then 10 hours later possible play Mason. Now if UH doesn't make it to the Sweet 16 then I would want either Christain County or Madisonville North-Hopkins there. But if that happans then I know Region two won't win this year without a doubt. IMO it will either go like this. Whoever wins the top bracket wins State because they went through the talent of the top bracket to get to finals and will still be fired up and go out and beat the bottom bracket. OR. Bottom bracket will win because after the top bracket gets done beating eachother up they will just simple be too tired to play another very good (and more refreshed cause they are from the bottom bracket instead of top) team. But good luck to all 16 teams that make it and play hard!

Yeah. UH lost in the finals of the All "A" that year but won the Sweet 16. I'm asking if any team has ever won both of them the same year.

I was just wondering if anyone has ever won the All "A" and the Sweet 16 in the same year? If not then has anyone come close besides UH (did it in 94 I believe)? If UH does get to the tournament then it'll be a rough road to the finals but was just wondering.

IMO it's between Hopson and Miller and only them two. I think that whichever player and their respected teams gets furthest (or wins) in the Sweet 16 will win. I'm sure that (even though some people might not like it) we can all agree that overall Hopson and Miller have set themselves apart from everyone else. So good luck to both players along with all the other seniors this year (Men and Womens for Mrs.).

UH won 86-72... pretty good game, UH controlled every aspect of the game. In the fourth quarter they didn't put their hands up at all so that Trigg could shoot. Lots of blocks and steals by Hopson and Edmondson tonight. The JV team which won the earlier contest came in with about 5 minutes in the 4th quarter. Lead was up to around 25 but Trigg tried a comeback... Good win in a good rivarly. GO UH.

Well Covington Catholic beat Elliott County by 14... It's being played at Mason Co. And Mason has played far better teams this year so i'm sure they are better prepared then Elliott. So i'm gonna have to go with Mason County by atleast 20+.

IMO some of these teams that are getting higher rankings haven't really played anyone. A couple don't even have top 20 wins (although one or two close games). I wouldn't give them too much credit untill it was earned. Plus winning by 15-20 against half-decent teams isn't going to cut it come tourny time.

Your right. Both Hopson and Edmondson's parents decided to spend six grand a year for four years so that their kids could win the All A just one time. Your right. Every single one of UHA's All A Championships are only because they "cheated" and "got" a better team. Your right. Hopson and Edmondson probably decided that they could get "easier" grades at a private school where I know for a fact it's a harder curriculum. Considering UHA has their own standard and every athelete must have atleast a 3.0 GPA in order to play sports. Your right. They decided to go to UHA and only have an Upper Class of 110 people (around 50 guys) to get their team out of instead of going to Christian County or Hoptown and having 1000 guys to get their team. Have you ever thought that maybe. And i'm just saying maybe. That your wrong and just upset a little? MAYBE. Their parents wanted them to have a good education.... Considering UHA has a 99% rate of their graduates going to college. MAYBE. That if it wasn't for the other players on the team that UHA would have lost in their All A region? Therefore meaning that yes, Hopson and Edmondson are VERY talented. But they are nothing without their team? Private schools are stricter on EVERYTHING. When I played basketball at UHA we ran ten suicides before each practice. One time a player missed a lay-up and the coach at the time (won't say any names) got upset and threw a chair all the way across the court. I don't know about everywhere else. But I know that at UHA you give it 110%. That when you play a terrible game or get terrible grades that you try harder, stay after school in the classroom, and stay hours after practice. When you play an okay game that you watch videos, you sweat more in practice, and you add a practice to the week schedule to work on the little things. When you play a great game that you ask yourself, "Why couldn't I have played better." Maybe.... just maybe. UHA just has the talent to compete in the All A year in and year out? If they were seriously getting an "unfair" advantage... How come they haven't won a Sweet 16 tournament in 14 years? I think everyone is allowed their own opinion so think what you want. But do not come on here and bash my school or anyone else's school (public or private) when they do good. And you know what else? Surprise surprise surprise. Private schools also have a MUCH better percentage with kids going to college and beyond. CONGRATS UNIVERSITY HEIGHTS BLAZERS!

Their 15th trip to the All A. A record of 44-7. And now their 8th championship. Congrats to the Blazers on their continued success in the All A. I can say this though. People at University Heights love winning the All A. But it's been 14 years since they have had the State Championship... I'm hoping they can make a good run at it.
