MIke's guardians have told me he will play (and he wants too) if he has a ride to and from practice.

How exciting is that!

I just got word that we have the votes needed for the turf to be installed at GCHS... We will present this at the next board meeting along with the rest of the upgrades needed at our facilities. Quote from a BOE councilman "We am tired of seeing our athletes go down the river and playing against our athletes at GCHS, we are going to do everything we can do to make our facilities and our program the best in the area"... We have the support, things are going to happen to make GCHS football the best program in the area.

We need lights and new bleachers (safety hazard), first priority. We have a new weight room in the process, it will be first class, we have a committment from a private contractor to renovate the locker rooms in the field house and this will be done this spring. We are not giving up on the turf, we have two board members that will vote for it when presented properly, we plan on doing that at the next board meeting. The soccer coach is all for it, Chris and Matt are also for it. It is being discussed to move the soccer field lights to the football stadium when and if the turf gets approved and this will make it a sports complex, so things are being discussed and you will see some things happen in the near future that will better the program. Coach Copley's input is critical in making this a first class facility and program, the support is there and things are going to happen.

We would love to have them, anything to show justification why we need what we need...

We have a plan.... and we are going to use that film clip that Raceland has to show the difference with the lights. We are going to do everything we can to make GCHS football a first class program, whatever our Coach needs and wants we are going to try and get it for him and the program. The Board is very, very supportive and will do more, we have that committment.

Coach Copley will not be at the meeting tonight, he had a prior committment but will be at the next meeting. He would like a schedule of all booster meetings so if someone could post that we will make sure he gets it.

I plan on it... That is if we have it, there hasn't been anything stating that we are or not for sure come across as of yet. Coach Copley has been notified, don't know yet if he is planning on coming but we will know soon, so a decision needs to be made on the booster meeting, asap...

He will know about it if he doesn't already...

Chuke is a class act, great to officiate a game for, my prayers and thoughts are with him and his family.

I would have loved to see Logan wearing the Blue and White at Commonwealth and the lord knows I pushed him at the top levels but I am very happy to see him going to Georgetown, great facilities and an awesome administration, that is a great match for both of them.

When Coach Sammons resigned he did not conduct weight training with Greenup's players (other than what was done in the weightlifting class that he teaches) and we didn't feel like he turned his back on our program. We do wish that someone would have stepped up in the system and filled in until Coach Copley gets here but there is absolutely no hard feelings toward Coach Sammons and we wish him the best and the kids understand what happened there. They do need leadership now in the worst way, we have hired a new strength coach and that is helping but not like it needs to be for the football team in general. Liability is the main issue with anyone else going in and helping with the program which has been brought up in this post. It seems to me someone on the Pikeville staff needs to step up and get the job done, I feel your frustration, we have been there at GCHS but we didn't expect Sammons to do it so why should Copley at Pikeville, he was let go, I am sure he cares about those kids and it is probably a real tough situation for him as well with the Pikeville kids but he can't look back, he has his hands full with our team here at Greenup and we can't wait for him to get to work.:thumb:

I don't understand your issue on this one... Give us more to go with and then maybe we can give you a stance.

Maybe not but he is going to know we want him back, I can assure you of that one...

You don't know what the deal is and if you did you'd change your tune, believe me, I'd be the first person to raise heck about this if I didn't know what the real issue was and like I said, if you knew you would lay off this issue.

I would give them a second chance Coupon, things were tough and each kid is a seperate case, as I stated in a post earlier, loyality is big in my book too, but I think some of these kids are ready to come back, Jett Troxler being one of them, he hasn't played a down at Raceland and we need him back in the Green, Black and Gold...

We have a few soccer players that are very interested, we had them lined up to try out last year and for some reason they didn't get picked up, don't know the whole story there but I do know we have at least one soccer player in each grade that is interested, I have spoken to them personally, all coach has to do is ask them to come out and lay his ground rules, our soccer coach is also willing to let this take place.

Matt and Chris are working on that very hard and I can tell you that Coach Copley is ready to come, yesterday...
