  1. I may be mistaken, but I thought the superintendents were trying to remove that choice by mandating who the public schools could schedule. I have no problem with a school making out a schedule on an individual basis for whatever reasons they have. I just have a problem with it being mandated by a group that doesn't include those it affects the most.
  2. I'm not saying that at all. The public schools should still have the choice of scheduling private schools, and vice versa. The schools should be able to schedule games with whoever they choose without someone saying they can't schedule a team simply because the make-up of the opponent may be a little different.
  3. This isn't prop 20. There is no oversight from the Board of Control, BOE, or any other body to look at issues other than the pure bias of one group. Besides, wasn't Prop 20 shot down? Are there any private school administrators that had input at these proceedings? What next, a mandate from public superintendents that athletes from private schools have to participate with one hand tied behind their back and with their coaches blindfolded?
  4. That's fine if the Oranges have some input into what those rules should be. When a group of Apples gets together and decides to exclude the Oranges from the fruit basket without any input from the Oranges, that is WRONG.
  5. When you're out with a telescope on a crisp, clear night observing the vastness of the universe it is almost daunting to think just how small our place in it really is.

  7. This just voices an extension of the "unwritten" boycott that has been enforced in Fayette County for years. The public systems are just hurting themselves. The private school programs will do just fine while the publics will have to find some other group to blame as their athletic programs, especially football, fall farther behind. If you don't want to address the real issues needing to be resolved to make your programs competitive, just dodge the competition.

  18. This talk of bans from post-season play, etc., might be feasible if the KHSAA investigations were completed and rulings handed down in a timely manner. If it takes 2 or 3 years for findings to be completed, if the school system has reacted as it should, the coaches and/or administrators involved in the violations will already be gone from the picture and any athletes involved will have graduated or transferred. That leaves only the student-athletes who have done nothing wrong to bear the punishment for transgressions that may have occurred before they were even enrolled at the school. Perhaps this is the reason a first offense does not carry a ban from play but a further offense during the probationary period would.
