Cov Caths senior toga night tonight. How could they possibly lose ?

Although Holmes is clearly the number one team in the region right now, you have to remember that Highlands and Cov Cath both took them into overtime. In both those games Highlands was playing without Simpson, and Cov Cath was playing without Bondick in their lineup. With Bondick back the Colonels have a much better shot at beating the Bulldogs, and with a healthy Simpson, Highlands is a much better team than they have been lately.

It doesnt matter what the rule is. . if you have a pivot foot and then stand with it in the air thats going to be called a walk no matter what type of bogus technicality you find in the rule book.

This game reminds me of the Holmes Cov Cath game. . Overtime and Holmes ran away with it.

Yes there is. You cant move while taking the ball out of bounds unless its after a made basket. If you do its a walk.

Nutini is a better all around outfielder. Pat Van Sant is a good player but Nutini is better fit for center field.

I don't know what it is but Cov Cath always seems to get outplayed in the fourth quarter, especially on letting the other team get second and third chances. Their rebounding is abysmal late in the game.

I understand that they didnt have their 2 best players but losing to Dixie by 31 is embarrassing either way.

Districts are at Holmes. Beechwood passed on holding it in their gym.

And I will also take a POY candidate over two Beechwood bench players.

You all have to remember that Sorrell is putting up these huge numbers (except for when Arrez is guarding him) as the only real scorer on his team. Every defense puts their best defender on him and the rest of the defense knows they will need to help. Arrez doesnt have to face that type of attention every game.

Holy Cross doesn't seem to have any other real scoring threat other than Sorrell. He had 2/3 of their points tonight and the rest of his supporting cast just couldnt seem to put the ball in the basket. Could you imagine if Sorrell would have decided to stay at Cov Cath how much different of a game this would have been?

Im not gonna lie McGraw is nasty but without Simpson i dont know how far Highlands can go. But at least they still have hope because if Simpson would have gotten hurt last year they wouldnt have hit double digits.

Nope Noll is Number 1 in the senior class

Noll's height is basically useless because he is on the ground half the time and doesnt know how to use it when he is on 2 feet. I have seen him several times this year get blocked by kids heads shorter than him because he doesnt know how to use his body down in the post. Yea hell tip a few shots and get a couple rebounds but really is not intimidating whatsoever in the middle.

In my opinion Cov Cath should play without a true big man in their lineup. Aaron Noll has been ineffective all season, and Isler is not cutting it either. They are a much better team with Shover, Roll, Maile, Grimes, and Schmerge on the floor. I know those 5 cant play every minute of every game, but should be playing as much as possible when districts and regionals roll around. Schmerge is about 6'6'' which is nearly as tall as Noll, is much more physical, and can shoot the ball from anywhere on the court. And once Bondick is back I do not think he will try to do too much with all of the expectations because he is a smart player and understands what needs to be done to win.

I agree. Mitch was getting by arrez nearly everytime but they didnt finish once they broke the press

I am just glad that Cov Cath showed that they can beat Holmes for three quarters and have it be a close game without Bondick. They are not as bad as people think without him, they just are missing a key piece of the equation and are just starting to figure things out. They played Holmes much tougher than most thought they would, I would just like to see them close out a tough game like this instead of relinquishing their lead. It seems like once they get a comfortable lead they stop attacking and sit back to see what happens. Very good game though.

I think it should be Van Sant in right, Nutini in center and Lafever in left.
