South Laurel is capable of making another trip to Rupp. They have a lot of good athletes and shooters. They also have a much improved St. John in the middle.

You started this thread about Breathitt Vs. Sheldon Clark, but it looks like you have gotten a little off track. What did you want to know about the game? I think it was postponed and is going to be rescheduled later.

I 'll bet that there are a lot of people in London that would strongly disagree with someone saying that South Laurel is a weak team. I think they are around 13-5 or something close to that and could have a shot to win the region again. Steve Wright is an excellent coach that has won a state tournament and he very seldom puts a weak team on the floor.

How can you be sure that they would have played a closer game with other players? I think Breathitt will turn their season around with the kids they have left that really want to play. Give them a little time and they will be fine.

I know JBS beat Buckhorn pretty handily the first time, but it was actually a pretty good game for awhile. Buckhorn led at the half and if not for a strong 3rd quarter by JBS, this may have been a close game. Where will the game be played at. I just think that Buckhorn is a little better than a cakewalk.

I would agree with that. If he does not have a serious injury he needs to play before the final game. Sitting out a couple games can really throw a good shooter off.

I think that is usually the case. A school can't release a student, but they can challenge the ruling.

Cox is a player, probably the best in the region, but I don't know if it is the right decision for him to try to play in an important game like this if he is seriously injured just because it is an important game. I think they have more important games down the road to play. If he is not seriously injured, then he should play.

I think that all districts should seed, which will reward teams for the regular season performance and help ensure that the regional tournament has the best teams from each district participating.

That is correct. No school can release a student athlete. They must check yes or no on the question that asks if the student athlete participated in varsity athletics at the sending school. When a school recieves a transfer student that wants to participate in athletics, that school is required to fill out a transfer form provided by the KHSAA and then send it to the school from where the student left. It is a required form for any transfer student and the recieving school must submit it to the KHSAA.

How much did the Stepp brothers play in this one? I think South Floyd is winless this season.

How many seniors does Owsley have? Is this considered a rebuilding year for them?

He was out a couple weeks with sprained ankle. I think he missed 2 or 3 games including the South Laurel game and most of the WYMT

I don't disagree with anything you said, mainly because I don't know that much about the situation, however on the transfer issue I don't think it is up to a school to release a student athlete. This is a decision that is made 100% by the KHSAA.

Is Fugate still suspended by the KHSAA?

Looks like Wolfe has really turned it around. They should be the favorite at this time.
