I received this from of friend of mine. This email was sent out by Campbell County Supt. Anthony Strong. "In the contract with the Bank of Kentucky Center, the center retained the rights for broadcasting. Those rights were offered to us for $10,000 fee. Both the 9th and 10th regions declined to purchase these rights due to the high cost and because we were under the assumption that it was referring to television only. As many of you may have heard there have been inquires about radio and webcast broadcasting and the arena has said that neither would be permitted. Their reasoning behind this makes sense due to the fact that they are quaranteeing us money. I have expressed a concern about this, and feel like some type of compromise will be reached by early tomorrow. I don't know that it will make everyone happy, but I feel that it will solve most issues. When a decision is reached, I will forward a press release to you." I bolded assumption because you know what happens when you assume? My take on the situation is that Mr. Strong should have done his homework. He should have asked some questions that evidently didn't get asked. I hope for his sake that an agreement can be reached and broadcast can be done for the fans. It is a fact! I was told this was decided at the District draw last week.

Very impressive! Do you know who Logan County (1984) and Warren Cent. (2004) beat in the finals? Logan Co. beat Bourbon Co. and Warren Cent. beat Mason Co. both 10th Region teams. That's pretty interesting.

I know Ashland made alot of noise in the late 60's. What about the 70's for the 16th?

I agree with you. Both games could be very interesting. I hope your right in saying Deming over Nicholas Co. it would be great to see the Lady Devils get to the region. They have played Nicholas Co. 3 times this season. Deming 68-64 winners in OT at Deming Nicholas Co. 51-48 winners in Bath Co. Tournament Deming 53-42 winners at Nicholas Co. Should be a very interseting tournament.

What is the record of your region in the Sweet 16? Since 1981 the 10th Region is 34-26. 2 State Championships 2003 and 2008 3 State Runner-up 1981, 1984, and 2004 2 Semi-Finalists 1990 and 1998 Can't you tell the winter weather has me really bored! :lol:

I for one don't care where it is hosted as long as they keep the Sweet 16 format. This is truly a great tournament for the smaller schools in the state. It has also been a major stepping stone for some teams to bigger and better things in the postseason.

They didn't have home court advantage in the region last year and they wiped the floor with everybody in their path.

IMO Pendleton is 3rd in the District. But we will find out tomorrow night were they stack. I think Deming should win the matchup. I may have to eat my words after the game. But if you want to see the top two teams out of this district then it would be Harrison Co. and Deming.

Why Deming or Nicholas Co. not good enough for the regional tourney? Looks like Harrison Co. and Deming SHOULD be the two to make it out of the 38th. If you look at Cantrells ratings that would be the two top teams.

With any region you have some good and not so good. But as a whole I believe that the 10th and 11th is fortunate to have the officials it has.

Since Northern Kentucky is the birthplace of the All "A" Classic. Do you think there is a possibility that the Classic will move to the Bank of Kentucky Center on the campus of NKU anytime soon.

I like this idea the best. Do away with the districts and have one huge regional tournament. I'll use the 10th region for example. They have 17 teams so there would have to be a play in game. Play this game at a neutral court. For the round of 16 let each district host 2 first round games. 37th Campbell Co. host two games 38th Harrison Co. host two games 39th Mason Co. host two games 40th Montgomery Co. host two games These games could be played the week that the district is traditionally hosted. They could play on different nights. So the fans could make all the games if they wish. Also, in the first round no team could play a game on their home floor. Then for the round of 8 and on the format would stay the same. All 8 teams play at the same site. Such as this year it would be at NKU since the 37th district names the regional site. Then next year the 38th selects, then the 39th and then the 40th. I know this is not 100% clear cut but the more I think of it I like this idea. If the KHSAA allows the 15th region to have a super district. Why can't the 10th have a super region.

I agree with your points!:thumb: I would soon play the toughest team in the first round of the district. If you beat them they go home. That reminds me of one instance in 1996. The 64th district seeds. Well Boyd Co. had been ranked #1 most of the year. They beat Ashland in the finals of the district. But guess who beats them in the finals of the region? You got it Ashland. Ashland then make a remarkable run to the state finals. My point is if they went with the blind draw. They could have very well drew each other in the first round of the disrtict. Then they could have eliminated their toughest opponent and not had to worry about them later down the road. I'm sure this has happened in other districts throughout the state.I believe this has happened to Hazard and Perry Cent. also. I could care less that the two best teams represent my district. I just want to make sure my team is there. If I have to beat out the best team first so be it. Just makes things better for you later down the road. If I can't beat them then I don't deserve to be there anyway. I know I am one of the rare few that like the blind draw. But thats my story and I'm sticking to it.:
