  1. Zach Deaton at Dayton, 4-1 and beat two 5a Schools ( Holmes & Scott) along with Rival Ludlow, and Lynn Camp who was 7th in 1a, only lose to beechwood.
  2. I agree Montgomery was a great back. So was Delaney. Montgomery finished #4 all-time rusher and scorer in school history. Delaney was #2. These were two fantastic backs who did well for having to share the rock. Also to add to that they had a 2,500 yard passer. Adams, Hissong, and Sutkamps had teams that ran the ball every down. I think Montgomery had 350 and Delaney had 485 attempts in their careers. One of the Sutkamps had a crazy over 500 carries in one season. These are all great backs who played in different times, but all had great teams. All six backs were fun to watch. Montgomery could outrun you or buckle you if you stepped in front of him. Delaney would make you look stupid like Barry Sanders. Adams and Hissong would just run past you. The Sutkamps never seen them play just heard about them they were warriors. I do know if Delaney and Montogmery did not have to share the rock with each other and if they did not have a good qb they would have easily crushed all the rushing records. It would have looked like this Delaney, Montgomery, Sutkamps. That is why they were a good team and went 12-1 and 11-2. Congrats to the Sutkamps though for bringing home the trophy. Hope they are all doing well in their lives.:dancingpa
  3. I agree, they should be respected dome what, but re building usually means they had a good team which i havent seen in a while produced from Bracken, but i can say they play hard.
  4. Dayton is a soild team, I wouldn't judge them on this one game.
  5. Dayton seems to be able to handle most any line big or little. Fast or strong, with the exception of a bad game. Dayton has a great line that i see winning this for them. :ylsuper:
  6. I agree that it will be close but flip the score Dayton will come out victorious, They seem to want to win more. :fire:  :fire:
  7. Yea well i heard Lynn Camp parents curse and yelling boo so many times it was unbelivable and Dayton does not play dirty they have changed there ways. Give them the credit they deserve.
  8. Excuses, Dayton starts doing good and people come out with the hating. IF anyone Lynn Camp was the one with 7 injuries in one series and then there quarter back walking all the way to the side line which you cant do and as far as the spots, Lynn Camp got one on a huge drive that almost ended the game. If Dayton is not soild what does this say about the many teams they have beat. Give them boys some credit they work for it every week.
  9. I was just saying that as a reply, because his head was in front. That was the whole point of him posting that picture, so he could say it wasn't. :thumb:
  10. Dayton coming off a big win knocking off #7 in 1A in the state, And Lloyd off there first win of the season. This makes for a great game that i see being close all the way till the end. Dayton in a nail biter. Dayton 25 (dang PAT's) Lloyd 21
  11. the block started with his head in front. I was right there looking at it.
  12. It seemed as if they were using it at a time out, if not on purpose it was for sure a plus for Lynn Camp. I also noticed the ref getting on Lynn Camp because the QB walked all the way to the side line which is a no no, surprised there was no penalty. Dayton had many mistake, but Lynn Camp wasn't able to take advantage much, thanks to that Devil D. :ylsuper:
  13. Well i jus did but its a bit late now. It dont matter i dont know there game plan im just stating my opinion from what i have viewed. For all we know Sherlock , getting his start may show that he is not just a poket passer. Nobody could know but the coaches and the actual players.
  14. From what i hear, Sherlock, the new stater and underclassmen has a better ball. While Ellis seems to run and throw on the run much better. IMO Ellis's deep ball aint much worse and he seems to has way more leadership over this team. I would start Ellis but you gotta respect the coaches call. He does know best.
  15. A very tough group. I think not, the only good team they played they lost to and there line is not as close to as good as Beechwood. Much slower and not as agressive. Also all they have is the run. Which other than Beecchwood nobody has been able to do very well against Dayton so I can't wait to see this game. I think "Hells Half Acre" will be hot as ever. :fire: :fire: :fire:
  16. I was there and yes i think he would have with Dayton up and all that pressure he had, IMO he did the right thing in at least giving his team a chance. You cant take what the finnal score came to be. 19-14 Dayton.
  17. Lucky ? I think Ludlow is lucky they walked outwith what they had. Rouse played the whole game regardless so you cant make excuses. Anyway a win is a win and i see Dayton being 4-1 by weeks end.
  18. I seen the Lloyd Beechwood game and there defense seems to be there. Newport, well the one game i have seen of them was against Bellvue and they had way to many turnovers. Defense seemed ok but i see Lloyd taking this one.
  19. Dayton has plenty of wide receivers that can make huge plays. They should maybe try to get some short passes and see what happens. I know Lynn Camp is not used to see Dayton's spread speed offense. With a combination of pass and run, Dayton should take this one.
  20. Not even close to the same. A quarterback taking off when he is under pressure or when he cant find someone to pass to is way different than a designed run play. Now maybe you can say this if he is in the open feild but IMO that is not a good comparison.
