  1. The 12th region is set as far as participants: 45th Danville Boyle Co. 46th West Jessamine Mercer Co. 47th Somerset Rockcastle Co. 48th Southwestern Wayne Co. It's a repeat field from last season, only differences are that Somerset comes out as the 47th district champs, and Southwestern comes out as the 48th district champs. A couple of district champs are not going to be given any favors by having to face Mercer Co., Boyle Co., and Tanner Perkins from Rockcastle Co.
  2. Won't be scheduled until Sat at the earliest, but it will be held at Boyle Co.
  3. Looks like the work is true about Masten http://www.amnews.com/public_html/?module=displaystory&story_id=41004&format=html
  4. Wow that would be a very quick hire. If Masten just told his team last night, sounds to me like something may have been going on in the background.
  5. I will go out on a limb and say that they will reload, not rebuild. Their guard play will not be as strong, but look for Spurlin to be a beast down low next year. A three peat for region championships will be hard to obtain, but you just never know in this region what might happen.
  6. I know it is hard to repeat in the 12th region, but what leads everyone to believe that Lincoln won't win this thing again. They have experience and senior leadership, plus they have been here before. Just in my opinion Lincoln is headed to Rupp and will represent the 12th region very well this year!
  7. Pulaski won 99 & 2000 that was the last team to repeat in the region. Pulaski was region runner-up in 98. They didn't make it to region in 2001 (Boyle Co won it that year), but returned as the champion in 2002.
  8. Looks as if we have the 45th and the 47th covered. What are some of the specifics up in the 46th. Looks like Mercer is in really good shape and West Jessamine should be strong as well. But, what's going on over at East what does Coach Hill have returning over there. What's going on down in the 48th? Who besides Southwestern can threaten to make a run in the region?
  9. Danville did lose a lot of their roster to graduation but Coach Morse will always get the most out of his teams. Danville will always be well coached as long as Morse is there. Boyle Lost Cooper but to the best of my knowledge they return everyone else. Lincoln returns all of its top hitters and pitching from last season. So it will fight amonst three pretty good teams. Hardball, what will Somerset return? If I am not mistaken they graduated the lefty Moody. And will Rock have anyone behind Perkins? Also, Pulaski should have some talent to compete in that district shouldn't they?
  10. I don't think it is fair to compare Pulaski and Casey. Pulaski is just going through a tough patch, they will turn it around when they get a little more talent in there. Also, its a new year. You can't go back and compare last season to this one. Everyone graduates certain players that can make a difference from season to season. Just because your logic worked for last season it wouldn't for the two previous seasons with the region champion coming out of the 45th. Like I stated before the 45th & 47th are pretty evenly matched, maybe its just a personnel bias that I put the 45th ahead of the 47th.
  11. I would probably put the districts in this order 46th (Mercer & West), 45th (Boyle, Danville, & Lincoln), 47th (Somerset & Rock), and 48th (Southwestern & McCreary or Wayne). It may be a push between the 45th and the 47th though. The 47th may have the better team, but the 45th I think has more delth.
  12. I agree with everything you have to say. Boyle is or should be the favorite, they have a very good group returning and are well coached. Danville will always be a tough team to beat. Coach Morse will have his team prepared and they will be tough come tournament time. Lincoln should have a pretty solid group returning too. It's hard to know what to expect from this group, but there is some good talent there and they have steadily improved over the past two seasons.
  13. I think everyone agrees that Somerset, West, and Mercer are the teams to beat. But I think many will be surprised with Boyle's team, they have a potent offense returning. If they can develop some pitching then they will be tough to beat. After Danville graduated the core of there team Boyle should have an easy road to the Region tournament, the 45th district is there's for the taking. But I am sure Danville, Garrard, & Lincoln will all put up a good fight.
  14. One has to think that Somerset, West Jessamine, & Mercer Co. would have to be the favorites. But, I wouldn't sleep on Boyle Co. they are returning a very solid group and they are always tough. And there are always the teams that reload and have solid programs Rockcastle Co., Southwestern, Danville, Pulaski Co., & East Jessamine. A sleeper might be Lincoln Co. they are returning a solid group.
  15. Hey thorobred it's interesting to how many of Coach Shelton's (St. Catherine and Cumberland) former players and coaches are coaching in Kentucky today. Chris Bishop (Rockcastle Co.) Wynn Harris (South Laurel) Nathan Isenberg (Henderson Co.) Danny Masten (Lincoln Co.) Brian Coffman (Carroll Co.) and many others as Asst. across the state
  16. News today has Wynn Harris taking over as the Head Coach at South Laurel. Congrats Wynn.
  17. Congrats to Josh, a class act on and off the field.
