Fleming gave this one away in my opinion Fleming led by 3 in regulation with about 13 sec. to go Ashland had to bring the ball the length of the floor instead of fouling and making Ashland to have to hit the first Ft then miss the second and get the rebound and put it in they allowed Ashland to get the ball to Gregg for a three to tie and send to OT.

Thought Ashland was toast with 15 seconds left, got the ball in and Gregg managed to get off a prayer 3 ball with 3 secs left. Very hard shot to make and he didn't hesitate. Biggs started subbing with 6:07 left in the first. Ashland has some very good subs no doubt but you have to let the seniors get their sea legs under them a bit more than that IMO Ashland really did well in the OT. All things considered a great win for Ashland but what a heartbreaker for Fleming

Exactly what I told my buddies I was with. Bush had the ball at mid-court with 7 seconds left, trailing by three and Flemming didn't foul him. :eek:Unbelievable! :idunno:That type of decision will get you beat more times than not. I thought both teams played sloppy and poorly. The officials didn't do any better. Horrible calls on both ends of the floor.

Survive and advance. It was real ugly but it counted. I look for the Tomcats to dismantle East on Friday.

Fleming has some talent, but is lacking a coach. Brian Kelly is not his dad, Lake! I believe this is what they were expecting when they hired him. FC should contend for a regional title next year, but I don't believe they will with him at the helm. Change is needed!!

I don't know that I totally agree with that one. Biggs did manage to have Burns tugging on his jersey to get a breather late in the 3rd and multiple times in the 4th.

Sounds like a great one!

I've had this debate with many friends over the years, but I've always said that if you're ahead by 3 with 5 seconds or less to go, you HAVE to foul. HAVE to. I've witnessed WAY too many games that got away because no foul was given, a three was made, the momentum swung and that was that.

Wouldn't be the first time we disagreed.

Mason has been in that situation about four times this and did not foul any time. Three of the four times the shot was made. I believe fouling is the way to go.

Agree, that totally would have iced it for Fleming. I was surprised to see Ashland find itself down three with 15 seconds left anyway. I thought they did a much better job limiting Fleming from driving to the basket and spreading the floor, thought we fixed that nicely. The guy that hurt us last night was Steward hitting those 6- 3 balls. You never know what's going to happen this time of year on the court, Ashand made an adjustment defensively and Steward didn't get off another 3 point attempt late in regulation or the OT period. Fleming will be the team no one wants to face next season, thought they played with a lot of poise.
