WOW, one player can make such a difference at the JV level! If the player was so great, the varsity could have used her.

 

Obviously she was based upon the scores. Probably could have been a varsity player if not injured. We will just have to see how things go this year I guess at the Varsity level. Glad many think Notre Dame is the team to beat because it is always nice being the underdog.

So, after this "could have been varsity player" was hurt, all the teams you played out scored you by 5/6 goals? Seems there are 11 on the field, so this player must be all world! Just curious, she wasn't hurt at the first meeting, but still wasn't varsity, but could have been if not hurt??

 

Not sure NDA is the team be beat, never said that. Just responded to another posters ? about NDA's JV last year. Dixie, SH, Brossart, Ryle, NDA and perhaps SK(played the top teams tough last yr, not sure what they lost) all will be in the mix. The talent is more spread out going forward.

St. Henry should be tough again this coming year with a strong class of Juniors returning that includes Libby Leedom.

Agree. I think Dixie will have a pretty strong team as well.

Holy Cross will return most of their starting lineup. Most of the starters have been starting for the first 3 years so they will have plenty of experience. Not sure they will have enough depth and goal keeper will be a big concern. Played NDA really well in District finals this season.

 

I would have NDA, St Henry and Dixie as the favorites, I think HHS, NCC, HC, Ryle, Boone, Brossart will be right there also.

True, but the top teams in NKY soccer have something like 5 state titles in the last 10 years. Very tough area for soccer.

NDA returns the best keeper in the area, if not the entire State, along with excellent players up top, middle defender and center mid. They also have several players that saw significant varsity playing time last season at nearly every position. This group, along with a strong contingent from last years JV NKY Championship team, will make them extremely strong. St. Henry, with their returning group will be right there with them and Dixie and Brossart will both be tough to beat. Those 4 teams are the class of NKY and after that, toss names in hat and throw them into the air to pick a finishing order.

NDA will always be tough, I don't think they will reach the heights of this past year. I agree about the keeper but keep in mind she wants to play basketball in college so I wouldn't be totally shocked if she doesn't play soccer. I think she could be a mid to high level D1 goalie if that is the route she choose and really worked on her game.

I would think Dixie,NDA, and St. Henry will be strong and should make for an awesome regional tournament! I also think that Brossart and CC are probably pretty happy to get out of the region and should have a chance to advance well into the state tournament.

No question it's a strong area but we do not see any change in the contenders.

Just curious to hear what the teams in Northern Kentucky have been doing over the last several months since the KHSAA changed the rules. Also was wondering what the limit on the number of games that can be played during a season and if all teams actually play the maximum number of games allowed.

Highlands will be back after this year. Their upcoming classes are really stacked. They probably need a varsity coaching change after this season if they want to maximize the full potential of these girls. They should really challenge Notre Dame in the next few years with the talent they have coming through. They will be loaded with high level Kings Academy and Hammer FC girls.
