Michael Kidd-Gilchrist says he’s staying

Featured Replies

Didn't someone say last year that Harrison Barnes had a 5% chance of returning to North Carolina. Would never happen!!! Well how did that work out? Lets let the Kidd be a kid....IMO!!!

Yeah, he was likely a top 3 pick and Sullinger was a top 5 pick. We'll see where they end up this year and if they made the right decision. Especially if neither win a title.

I don't know much about Jeff Goodman, but he seems like a tool here.

FWIW, Goodman apologized via Twitter. And he should have, because if I'm not mistaken Worldwide Wes has always been very close with MKG & his family. Maybe an uncle or his godfather? Or both?

I saw it and thought it was the classic "non-apology apology." Why bother?

You might be right. I just think it's better than nothing.

Agreed.

Why? Because initially Goodman may actually be right? Does anyone truly believe WWW won't offer his input into this situation since he is close to the family? Didn't WWW steer MKG to Calipari? Wouldn't WWW have steered MKG to Memphis if Cal was still at Memphis?

Didn't Brandon Knight say he was coming back at one time also?

Never read it. I use it to set my water and cell phone on top of the night stand.

I have no idea. But I think in this case he's speaking with a certainty (MKG will do whatever WWW tells him to) that he can't have. And if he does he would do well to publish what information he has. Otherwise he's just engaging in the speculation of an amateur under the guise of being a professional. Like I said, I don't know much about Goodman, but from his tweets on this issue he came off as amateurish and contemptibly condescending, especially in response to MKG's mother.

For me, I didn't so much disagree with what he said, but the snide way in which I believe he said it. WWW, I would think, will be involved b/c he's been very close with MKG & his family. But Goodman came across as though the kid cannot think for himself.

I didn't get to see his tweets to MKG's mom. I started following him after the apology.

I empathize with Goodman. I could see me being the same way in his position but like I said I say that without having seen his actual tweets. I know I'd have a 'whatever, MKG' attitude though.

Probably another thread, but I think Sullinger has hurt his quite a bit. Barnes I expect to stay close to the same.

I have two copies that someone gave me. Neither of which have been opened and probably never will be unless it's to get Coach Cal to sign them.

What Goodman "forgot" to mention in his tweets is that MKG and WWW are family....So yes, WWW will have a say most likely in what Michael does, but the way Goodman tweeted it was completely irresponsible. Everyone knows about WWW and his "sketchy" status in the world of recruiting, etc. To simply say what Goodman said and leave it at that makes it appear that things aren't on the up & up with Michael. His only intent was to soil Michael's reputation.

I think Goodman was just saying what 80% of us thought when MKG made his statement.

Seriously? 80% of people thought "I wonder what WWW has to say about that?" Hardly.

80% probably through "yeah... right." I'd wager very few made any association with WWW.

^ WWW didn't even cross my mind. My first though was why is the question even being talked about right now.

You really think 80% of people heard what Gilchrist said, and thought, "He's going to do whatever WWW tells him to"?

That was my initial thought right after, 'yeah right.'

I assumed more people thought like I do. I guess I am more unique than I thought.

Awesome:D
