Ram, and myself were having a discussion in the ER just a short while ago about Tom Brady's wife's comments after the Super Bowl. Ram believes that when his wife made the post game comments about the New England receivers it was just as if Tom Brady were making the comments, and that Tom should, and will probably be fined by the Patriots. I say hogwash, that Brady can't control what is wife said after the game, and that he shouldn't, and won't be fined. What say the rest of you?

I don't think he will and he shouldn't. She was obviously very emotional and let it get the best of her. Can't blame her for defending her husband. He can't control what she says.

I think the notion that he would be fined for that is ludicrous.

If I WERE Brady I'd kick her butt to the curb and go on to the next supermodel. However, if Gisele was MY wife then she could most definitely make all the decisions.

To the actual question. Brady won't nor should he be fined for this.

Once again, LRCW has taken an argument and turned to be something that it was not in order to gain support for his side of the disagreement.

 

The argument was not SHOULD he be fined for his wife's comments. The argument was: IS it a common belief that a spouses comments are a reflection of the public persona of the person. If a presidential candidate's wife says, "We should shoot all people that cross our borders", is that seen as a reflection of the president hopeful's belief? Yes it is. If a preacher's wife says, "I don't believe in God and am an atheist", is that a reflection of the preacher? Yes it is, people will say, if he can't convince his wife to believe, how will he convince new church members.

 

So, the argument is: Is Brady's wife's comments a reflection of Brady? Yes they are. Do I think it's correct? No. Do I hold him responsible? No. But it is, and will be, seen as a reflection of Brady. Will he be fined by the Patriots for violating their self imposed gag order to not speak down of the organization and players? I don't know. But, I could see it happening, because it does portray the Patriots in a negative light, and thusly violates the spirit of the organizations contract to not cause negativity within the organization.

Again, it's not about him being fined, it's about "is her comments seen as a reflection of Brady".
