I don't think ALL former UK basketball players would be afforded the same opportunities as Farmer, let alone the "perks". He's never impressed me...but I don't know anything about his UK days. He seems, though, to expect the "respect" and "perks", without regard to what the reality of his abilities is. One thing, though...I don't think it's been confirmed he applied, has it? Didn't the agency refuse to release whether he did or didn't, and only commented to state that if he did he would be denied because he'd been an elected official? This could be all rumor, no truth.

They confirmed he had applied. They just wouldn't release the unemployment application to meet the C-J's open records request.

I know lots of extremely wealthy folks that shop at Wal Mart, Big Lots, etc.

Once (if) he wises up and stops doing stupid things he'll get the cushy job when the heat blows over. That's my point.......Richie is making too tough for the UK bluebloods to help him along.......going to take a long time ( I think too long) for some to forget the major gaffes he made while in elected office, especially the ones mades the last couple of months. By that time the six-figure job offers will not be available.

I know folks that have expensive tastes (vacation in St. Barts, stay in the nicest, most expensive condos in Deer Valley, drive very, very nice cars) that still go to Big Lots. If they can pick up what they need at inexpensive prices, they'll do it in a heartbeat. Look, I'm no Farmer fan and I fully agree with you that being a former UK football player doesn't not give him the qualifications to be the Ag Commissioner or the Lt. Gov.; then again that doesn't mean I'm going to agree with what I think is an unfair shot against him.
