StraightShooter
Very hard fought battle. Ryle clawed back from a 42-33 deficit in the final 4 minutes with two long-range 3s by Drew Mays and some good teamwork on inside passes and layins by Ryan Smith. Boone caught a gift of 3 FT's on a perfect block of a 3-point attempt by McQueary to take it from 42-41 to 45-41 with about a little over minute to play. Even Coach McQ knew it was a horrid call. Ryle did not cave and picked up a couple of steals and tied it with about 30 seconds to play. Boone held for the final shot and called a time out with about 11 seconds left. The Rebels executed Coach McQ's plans perfectly on a beautiful play to get an uncontested layup to go up 47-45 with 3.5 seconds left to play. With one foul to give, Boone fouled in the back court with 2.3 ticks left. Ryle's desperation heave for 3 fell short as time expired. Great effort by both teams!! Congrats to Boone on winning both battles with Ryle by 2 points and taking the regular season district title.
MJAlltheWay24
You are certainly right about executing McQ's play perfectly at the end to put Boone up too. A lot of credit to Ryle for fighting through, but if Boone would have made half the layups that they missed this would have been a double digit win in my opinion. Also, the point blank lay up missed before the foul on the 3 would have actually put Ryle up one. That sequence was a 5 point swing. Don't count the Raiders out come districts!! :thumb:
statman
I would assume by the margin and the comeback that this game was in Union, but you know what they say about "assuming."
Porky
Big district game. Congrats to Boone on the victory.
Voice of Reason
Big district game. Congrats to Boone on the victory. Actually, Boone had already clinched the number 1 seed in the districts before this game was played.

But I'm talking about the whole game. I've never seen a team miss so many layups as Boone did last night (granted I don't really go to HS games as much anymore). Clyde
So we have a 3-way tie for 2nd in the 33rd. I think the tie-breaker is a blind draw. Correct?
changeup
I believe Boone and Cooper still have to play for a second time so it depends on this game. (Boone at Cooper 2/10) If Boone wins, then yes. If Cooper pulls the upset then it goes like this 1. Boone 2. Cooper 3. Conner 4. Ryle
TAC
This ended up being the game of the night. Lots of options with Cov Cath/Scott, Holy Cross/Camp Co, Dixie/Holmes and of course UK all last night. Looks like that blind draw for 2nd seed could make or break a team? changeup
I do not think it matters in this district. I think all three county teams are capable of beating Boone on a neutral floor(Conner) It is tough to beat a team three times, especially a county rival. Look for the 1 vs. 4 matchup to go to the wire.
NEERFAN
Same margin of victory as the first game but 74 less total points.
