Davis: "Just bring him in here. I'm going to block everything."

Featured Replies

Caught this on ESPN's "weekly watch"

According to Arkansas' Mardracus Wade, Anthony Davis was overheard telling the rest of the Cats to, "Just bring him in here. I'm going to block everything."

Great quote, and I love the attitude. Davis seems to be developing as a leader. I noticed him getting onto Twany Beckham about something during a recent game.

 I love it. Of course, him trying to block everything allowed Alabama to have their way inside against him Saturday, but I still love the attitude.

While I agree with the attitude, I'm old school. How 'bout Davis' actions doing the talking instead of his mouth? I can't stand all this trash talking crap and "he's disrespecting me" baloney any more. Let your play do the talking!

^ I wouldn't call talking to your teammates trash talk.

I'm with you HT. This doesn't seem like trash talking at all. He's just letting his teammates know he's there.

If it's said loud enough for the opposing team to hear, and you know it was, in my "oldschool" book it's trash talking. Now if stated in a huddle or similar, that's different.

Agreed.

Obviously it was, because the quote came from an opposing player, but with the stipulation that Davis was saying this to his teammates. I haven't seen anything out of Davis to make me think he's out there mouthing off the whole game, so I'm siding with him on this.

Thankfully he'll be gone in about 2 months.....

You know you love him.

Love his game...hate his team...fear his brow.

That's not really trash talk IMO. Even if it was, every team does it. Even the old school guys did it. Read about the 70s and 80s ballers. Larry Bird was the king of trash talk. Jordan was the prince.

But what a good 2 months it will be.

2 out of 3 aint bad.
