There is a better system than the one we have that is less intrusive. It is used by Israel's airline El Al. Paul could have used the Constitution on them. He was on his way back to DC for a session of Congress and the Constitution does not allow for the Congressman from getting to that meeting. Yet, he did not use it.
January 24, 201214 yr I travel a fair amount. I have always fould the TSA people to be professional and courteous. Maybe that is because I do what they ask me to do, smile, greet them pleasantly and thank them for doing their job when the screening is finished. The Senator needs to get over himself. My guess is that he used the chance to raise a ruckus about the TSA.

So they do know what a terrorist looks like. They have not had problems in a long time, so it is working. They must train their people very well, so they know what a terrorist looks like.

If he wanted to, he could have pressed for the enforcement of the portion of the Constitution, that says that a member of Congress cannot be stopped when he is on his way to a session of Congress. January 25, 201214 yr According to his Facebook page he was on his way to DC to deliver a speech at the March for Life Candlelight Vigil for Unfertilized Eggs and Zygotes. That may be why he didn't exercise his constitutional right.

The test is simple, would a reasonable person feel free to leave and end the encounter? If the answer is no it's a detention.
