Final in overtime

NCC won by 1 in overtime on buzzer beater 3 pointer.

Any updates? Who hit the shot at the buzzer?

Was at a wedding and reception all night, would have loved to have seen this one played. Judas Priest, what a week for the Breds, winning AT Boone County, CovCath, & Campbell County in a 4 day stretch.

Here's the story from nky.com

Junior guard Nick Seibert hit a 3-pointer with 0.4 seconds left in overtime as Newport Catholic edged Campbell County, 59-58 on Saturday.

Camels junior forward Nate McGovney hit a pair of free throws with four seconds remaining in regulation to force the extra session.

When these teams met last season, it was Campbell County beating NewCath on a shot at the buzzer in OT.

Junior guard Michael Bueter and senior guard Brady Hightchew led the Thoroughbreds with 20 points each.

Senior center Jared White finished with a career-high 22 points to lead the Camels, and McGovney added 19.

Not sure why it says "with 0.4 in overtime." Should just say as time expired. The clock keeper stopped the clock as the basket went in. Stopped it at 0.5 and then started it again. Clock should not have been stopped at all. Campbell tried to say they called a timeout but the officials never made the call and the CCHS bench would not have had time to call a timeout anyway. I don't even think they had any left to begin with. A little shenanagins by the Campbell clock keeper, but no harm no foul. Very entertaining game to watch.

No Ryan, McDonald,Schulte, Miller and NCC still wins.

No Ryan, McDonald,Schulte, Miller and NCC still wins.

Ryan's shot just wasn't falling tonight. I think he may have been 0-5 or 0-6 from behind the ark.

McDonald was out sick. Miller had 2pts, Devoto didnt play (misprint in paper).

Andy Miller was sensational on the boards. NCC got huge minutes from Evan Morse, who took big time advantage of his opportunity. Seibert, Beuter and Hightchew played really well. Congratulations to the Breds. 3 big wins this week as Lawnboy said. Momentum heading into the All A and a possible huge showdown with Holy Cross.

McDonald???

McDonald was not at the gym tonight. The word at the game was he has been sick for the past few days. I spoke with a few people at the game and they said he was feeling very bad before, during and after the Cov. Cath game. Between McDonald and Schulte being sick the past week or so not a bad 3 games for the Breds. Once everyone is healthy look for them to have a say in run for the 9th Region crown.

The All A Region should be a fun one. With NCC playing well and Holy Cross on a roll should be a interesting week of basketball.

It was two years ago when the Jolly hit a 30 footer at the buzzer. Last year NCC won at home.

Nice win and nice 4 day stretch by the Breds! I was shocked to see both teams only have 5 scorers especially in an overtime game.

McDonald???

Missed game due to illness. Was sick at CovCath and Boone but able to play, but not last night. Makes the win even more impressive.

This win may have supplanted NCC as the best team in NKY except Dixie. As Ric Flair said, "To be the man, you gotta beat the man...Whooo!!"
